Position Description Precision, contract machining business is looking for a Machinist for our Turning (Lathe) Department. This position is responsible for setting up and running CNC Machines to produce precision components while maintaining quality standards in a fast-paced environment. Monitors parts to ensure they are meeting customer specifications. Experience with Mazak machines is a plus. Duties include: • Operates equipment to standard work practices within all quality and performance standards. (Mazak Lathe) • Interprets blueprints, sketches and engineering specifications • Determine process, tools, programming (in Mazatrol) and setup- Neatly and accurately completes all required paperwork- Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment according to maintenance plans and established procedures- Ensure all safe work practices are followed Qualifications include: • High School diploma or equivalent • 3-5 years experience preferred. Prefer experience in a Job Shop. • Familiarity with a variety of metals and plastics, and working on parts with very close tolerances. • Ability to inspect own work, troubleshoot and recommend optimal cutting tools a must. • Must be self-directed and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
