Heavy Equipment Operators are responsible for the safe operation of heavy mobile equipment at the plant site including inspection, documentation, escalation of equipment issues while working in an open pit mining production environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Pre-start checks Start-up, park-up, shutdown and communication procedures are carried out in accordance with manufacturers' and/or site requirements.
In case of emergency, understand and follow emergency procedures.
Responsible for safe operating practices, including operating controls, monitoring gauges and systems, conducting safety checks and use of two-way radio.
Equipment is operated within vehicle limitations as specified by the manufacturer and/or site requirements.
Ensure the machine is operated in a manner that maximizes tire life and equipment life.
Records are maintained in accordance with site requirements.
Loading and hauling operations are carried out with all types of materials in all weather conditions by day and night; within safety requirements and accurate delivery of material to assigned dump location.
Work is completed in accordance with the agreed plan and outcomes and within the operating capacities of the equipment.
Zero equipment damage due to negligence or not following procedure.
Report any safety or mechanical problems with the equipment in accordance with company procedures.
Perform other work required or as directed.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required.
Mobile equipment operations experience (minimum of 2 years)
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

HEALTH / DENTAL INSURANCE- Regular full-time employees are provided general medical, hospitalization, and dental insurance coverage. RETIREMENT PLAN- The county is a member of the Texas County & District Retirement System (TCDRS). Regular employees are required to become members of TCDRS and are eligible for this benefit immediately upon employment. Employees automatically deposit 7% of their salary. Temporary employees are not eligible to become members of TCDRS. The county matches employee deposits by 200% and interest at retirement. An employee is vested after 8 years of service. An employee may retire with full benefits after 8 years of service and attainment of age 60, or after 30 years of service, or at the time the employee qualifies under the "Rule of 75". The "Rule of 75" is defined as when the employee's age combined with years of service (rounded down to whole years) equal to 75 or more.
DEATH BENEFIT PLANS- There are two (2) types of death benefit plans provided by Midland County to all employees who participate in the Texas County and District Retirement System.

Responsible for operations functions specializing in operating heavy equipment providing service to perform in a full-service construction arena which provides solutions to ensure continuous production consistent with established standards in support to the Company.
Functional Responsibilities
Ability to follows instructions and perform as a team player
Pre-Trip and Post Trip responsibility to meet Company standards
Operate heavy equipment for road and pad construction jobsites
Control machine speed, direction, bucket height and bucket angle
Perform daily preventative maintenance such as inspection and fluid check
Notify management of any equipment or safety issues
Read and understand civil plan drawings
Work subgrade and base to achieve proper processing
Finish-grading for correct grade (blue-top and GPS)
Use GPS automatics for machine control
Coordinate daily project tasks between work crew members
Ability to sustain a 24/7 on call work environment
Maintains professional communication with the Internal and External Customers
Ability to troubleshoot, repair and maintain rig equipment to meet quality standards

Notify immediate supervisor of any maintenance needs.
Inspect large equipment before and after use to ensure it is working properly
Provide support to successful completion of construction and engineering work
Operate all heavy equipment like cranes, earth movers, bulldozers, front-end loaders, and other related equipment.
Operate the equipment in the right direction and angles to prevent accidents and damage of property.
Ensure and manage the machines or equipment in a safe and secure way.
