As an Excavator Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating excavating machinery to dig, move, and grade earth materials at construction, mining, or infrastructure project sites. The role involves preparing sites, loading and unloading materials, coordinating with other crew members, and performing routine maintenance on equipment. Responsibilities Include: * Operation of a variety of heavy excavation equipment including backhoes, bulldozers, excavators, & other machines as needed * Perform digging, trenching, and grading tasks in preparation for construction and site development * Ensure precise and accurate excavation according to project plans and specifications * Conduct daily pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure it is functioning properly * Maintain high standard of safety by following safety procedures and wearing PPE * Effectively communicate with crew members on site to coordinate work & ensure smooth operations * Identify and avoid hazards (utilities, unstable ground, other equipment, workers) * Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, or instructions to ensure excavations are made to specification * Maintain accurate records of job activity (e.g., hours, materials moved, inspections) * Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and company policies * Regularly maintain and service vehicles and equipment * Consistently meet or exceed assigned daily, weekly, or monthly performance goals * Fulfill on-call duties according to the department schedule * Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines at all times * Safely operate and maintain assigned company vehicles, machinery, tools, and equipment Requirements * 2+ years of experience in excavation or heavy equipment operations * Valid operator's license for equipment (e.g., Excavator, Backhoe), CDL preferred * Strong knowledge of excavation techniques, equipment capabilities, and safety regulations * Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and site plans * OSHA 10/30 certification preferred * Excellent communication and teamwork skills * Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instruction * Valid driver's license and clean driving record * Neat, clean and organized * Great work ethic

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * 12 months of loader operator experience with 980M/982M loaders * Prior work experience preferred working in or around heavy equipment, construction, or paving. * Basic mechanical maintenance knowledge and skills. * Proven safety record. * Able to lift up to 50 pounds. * High school \ GED * Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.
