Purpose at Ashley:
The Lift Operator role is responsible for safely and efficiently operating material handling equipment, specifically lift trucks and forklifts, to move furniture and case good products within the warehouse premises. This role involves loading and unloading furniture items from trucks, transporting them to designated storage areas, and assisting with the organization of inventory.
What You'll Do:
Perform safety check of powered industrial vehicle prior to operationOperate powered industrial vehicles in a safe and appropriate manner
Use scanning equipment to locate product in Distribution Center and ensure accurate inventory
Pick orders and stage for shipment following the scan move scan
Manipulate products safely and effectively using the Standard Operational Procedure for proper lifting.
Inform supervisor of needed backorders of product, scanning problems or product out of sequence
Inform supervisor of damaged and misplaced products
Perform a trailer audit (verify trailer number, cleanliness, condition) prior to loading and inform supervisor of any deficiencies.
Perform the job satisfactorily at a sustained level of productivity.
Follow all OSHA and Company established safety rules and procedures
Follow all standard operating procedures while working at assigned positions

The Hillsborough County Solid Waste Department is seeking a Solid Waste Transfer Equipment Operator to operate semi-tractor trailers, roll-off trucks and other motorized equipment and vehicles. The ideal candidate will have advanced experience in semi-tractor trailer operation. Preferably, candidate will possess knowledge of solid waste operations. Candidate must have the ability to be exposed to loud sounds in a waste transfer station, handle inordinate smells from trash and exposure to dirt-filled grounds. Candidate will also perform manual labor in outside environment, exposed to heat, sun, high humidity, rain and other adverse weather conditions. Candidate will walk/stand for prolonged periods of time (approximately six (6) hours) per day. Operates large semi-tractor trailer or roll-off motorized vehicles for the transportation of bulk solid waste material in constricted loading/unloading locations, on unimproved roads, and on heavily traveled roads and highways in compliance with all DOT and County safety rules and regulations.
Operates other heavy equipment such as front-end loaders, excavators, and skid steers to perform a variety of solid waste operational functions, including receiving waste, loading trailers, processing roll-off containers, and performing clean-up functions.
Operates hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical auxiliary equipment related to assigned tractors and trailers.
Checks and ensures that equipment is serviced and in good working condition; makes minor repairs and adjustments to equipment and ensures that periodic maintenance and major repairs are performed.
Performs daily safety inspections and observes proper safety practices and regulations when operating or working around equipment.
May supervise subordinate operators, trades helpers, or laborers or act as a lead driver.
Uses manual tools to pick up litter at the facility and ensure proper disposal.

Responsibilities
Work under the direction of the Lead Operator, Earthwork Foreman, Earthwork Superintendent, and/or other designated project leads
Follows and maintains safe operating procedures and protocols for all equipment operation and field activity in accordance with Moretrench safety policy and OSHA requirements
Safely performs physical duties associated with operation of Moretrench heavy equipment including but not limited to bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, handling, climbing into and out of, and around heavy equipment

Performs daily greasing and fluid checks and assumes responsibility for the maintenance and safe operation of any and all assigned pieces of equipment
Inspects assigned equipment prior to each use; and makes appropriate, accurate, and timely entries into the operator's checklist / equipment log for each piece of equipment operated
Immediately reports any equipment damage, maintenance problems or concerns and safety issues to the Foreman and/or Superintendent
Follows direction of the Foreman and/or Superintendent to overcome issues with changing and/or unforeseen field conditions or project scope
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years' experience operating multiple pieces of heavy equipment at Class A operator level
Extensive experience in heavy equipment operations involving mass excavations; clearing and grubbing; backfilling and compacting; excavating and pipe laying; and construction and maintenance of embankments, berms, and dikes
In the case of a truck loading excavator, the ability to fully and safely load loads trucks in an efficient manner to meet the goals of the project
Demonstrate the skills of a finish grade operator (tolerance of 1/10 of a foot or better) on at least one piece of equipment, dozer or excavator
Skilled and fully competent in using GPS system as a grading tool to achieve grades
Skilled at the practice of operating safely on worksites according to OSHA, MSHA and Moretrench safety protocols and requirements
Note that all job site locations are remote and temporary, so a form of transportation is required. The vast majority of our work is within a 1 hour drive of Riverview, FL (just outside of Tampa) so our personnel do very little travel
Valid Florida driver's license, or the equivalent
Able to operate heavy machinery for long periods, including evenings and weekends when necessary
Must be able to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains
Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time

About the role:

Purpose at Ashley:
The Lift Operator role is responsible for safely and efficiently operating material handling equipment, specifically lift trucks and forklifts, to move furniture and case good products within the warehouse premises. This role involves loading and unloading furniture items from trucks, transporting them to designated storage areas, and assisting with the organization of inventory.
What You'll Do:
Perform safety check of powered industrial vehicle prior to operationOperate powered industrial vehicles in a safe and appropriate manner
Use scanning equipment to locate product in Distribution Center and ensure accurate inventory
Pick orders and stage for shipment following the scan move scan
Manipulate products safely and effectively using the Standard Operational Procedure for proper lifting.
Inform supervisor of needed backorders of product, scanning problems or product out of sequence
Inform supervisor of damaged and misplaced products
Perform a trailer audit (verify trailer number, cleanliness, condition) prior to loading and inform supervisor of any deficiencies.
Perform the job satisfactorily at a sustained level of productivity.
Follow all OSHA and Company established safety rules and procedures
Follow all standard operating procedures while working at assigned positions
Demonstrate the Company's Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functions.
