Hazards:

Summary:
As a Plant Operator you will work rotating 12-hour shifts to assist with the manufacture of specialized flow improving products utilized in crude and refined products pipelines. Dispose scrap, broken pallets, lubricants and other chemicals timely, using allotted containers/dumpsters as indicated by HMT procedures.
Sort, set in order and clean tools, shadow boards, machinery, floors, cabinets, transportation carts, etc. in compliance with 5S program and the weekly tasks schedule.

* Maintains storm water systems; inspects, clears blockages, and repairs or replaces structures; jets pipelines; clears grates; inspects for illegal dumping and discharge to aid in pollution prevention.
* Participates in City-wide emergency response; clears debris from accidents and weather events; posts advisory and warning signs, conducts traffic control as necessary.
* This position is considered Critical Personnel during a natural or manmade disaster and/or a catastrophic event. This position may be required to provide services or perform duties for the benefit of the public and the continuity of City operations. These may include services or duties different from those performed in the usual course and scope of this position.
* For purposes of business continuity, employees in this position are considered Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers, as defined by the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines:
High school diploma or equivalent; AND a minimum of two (2) years of equipment operation and maintenance experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge of:
* Equipment operation methods and techniques.
* Safety processes, procedures, and practices.
* Accessory applications and operations.
* Basic motorized equipment repair and preventative maintenance methods.
Skill in:
* Operating various types of equipment, which may include excavator, backhoe, gradall, or boom mower, according to safety protocol.
* Working in various weather conditions.
* Following instructions.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Valid State Class B Commercial Driver's License is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Participates in general maintenance and labor activities as necessary for timely completion of projects and work orders.
Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in grading and site construction
Operate the loader to move materials around the construction site
Perform routine maintenance on the loader to ensure it is in good working condition
Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment
Communicate with other members of the construction team to ensure efficient and effective work
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
