Potential for scheduled overtime. Summary of Job Duties: Perform routine operations to select, weigh and mix various materials to prepare specified mixes for milling or twin screw operations. Use care to order and select correct raw materials, weigh accurately and mix to standard operating procedure. Insures proper operating inventory through communication with Warehouse. Load mixers from mezzanines, mix to prescribed time cycles and facilitate the transfer of the mixer contents to compounding equipment. Maintain constant flow of material to operations. Disassemble and clean all elements of process line equipment as required or on change-over of material. Assist in all efforts to bring non-operation process line equipment back into operation. Provide relief as necessary to maintain continuous operation of process line. Performs in-process control testing. Change/stage WIP containers when necessary. Make, record, log, and chart appropriate product and process control records. Detect unusual conditions, defective materials, operating difficulties, or process upsets, and report to supervisor. Requires the use of fork lift trucks and other material handling equipment. Observe prescribed or necessary safety precautions and work according to good manufacturing and housekeeping practices. Train other operators as assigned. Implement and maintain the 5S systems in the Plant. This includes sorting, straightening, and cleaning activities including but not limited to vacuuming, equipment cleaning and inspection and painting. Essential Functions: Accountable for production with machine operation and programming, to include injection moulding, laser, and component stamping press. Tasks: Able to set up and program injection molding machines. This includes insertion of molds and programming in all run criteria and adjusting as needed. Accountable for running daily production and performing hourly quality checks to ensure compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications. Capable of using basic measuring equipment such as calipers, Ensure compliance. Observe all safety requirements. Creating nonconforming reports for out of specification product. Posting production orders in SAP. Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments. Able to maintain required efficiency rates. Conduct preventative maintenance on injection molding machines, dryers, and chillers. Able to train Machine Operator II employees on running equipment. Able to drive a forklift. Excellent organizational skills. General housekeeping of work area. Able to set up component stamping/laser/injection moulding machines. Employee must show up to work on time and be able to work overtime as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Required Work Experience: 2 Years of related Manufacturing experience Work environment and Physical Requirements: Working conditions are based in a manufacturing setting. To perform this job successfully the individual must be able to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to traverse production facility and climb ladders. Must be able to lift and or move up to 45 pounds at a time. Must have manual dexterity in order to use tools or setup machines as directed. Perform repetitive tasks that entail frequent bending and stooping. Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced. Must wear personal safety equipment, as required.
