Thorough understanding of all aspects of paving industry prep work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, oil consistencies, compaction and other details related to asphalt paving. Reports all damage or required repairs as needed to the mechanic on duty in a timely manner. Completes equipment checklist and turns in on a daily basis. Loads and unloads equipment from trailers. Ensures that equipment is correctly secured on trailers. Ensures equipment is cleaned at the end of each job, each day. Operates equipment safely at all times. Does not allow riders on the equipment while operating. Follows all safety rules and regulations and practices preventive safety measures. Performs non-operator, general labor work as needed including driving, shoveling, raking, rolling and flagging duties. QUALIFICATIONS Valid driver's license and good driving record. We are looking for an individual who has some experience in operating any and all core equipment, which includes dozers, excavators, backhoes, and loaders. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: - Load dump trucks and trailers with product. - Screening topsoil. - Movement of material in the yard. - Yard Maintenance. - Sorting materials. - Crushing concrete and asphalt. - Tarp bunkers. - Maintaining material stockpiles. - Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate, and refill equipment. Required Skills: - Experience with screening plants. - Experience with crushing plants.
