Core Responsibilities & Duties
Warehouse & Forklift Operations
Load and unload freight from 53 ft. commercial trailers safely and efficiently.
Operate forklifts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks; maintain required certifications.
Use handheld scanners to track, label, and process freight through the distribution network.
Verify freight documentation and inspect condition to ensure quality and accuracy.
Frequently lift/move up to 50 lbs; occasionally up to 90 lbs.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Perform other dock-related duties as assigned.
Dispatching & Coordination
Plan, schedule, and dispatch customer freight shipments within assigned areas.
Act as the main point of contact for drivers and Independent Contractors via phone, email, and communication systems.
Monitor shipment progress and provide proactive updates to ensure on-time delivery.
Build and maintain strong relationships with drivers and internal teams.
Resolve issues promptly and professionally to meet customer expectations.
Collaborate with customer service and sales to address freight needs and provide solutions.
Track performance, hours, and equipment availability to ensure operational efficiency.
Perform additional administrative or communication tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Previous experience in logistics, dispatching, or warehouse operations preferred.
Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN EQUIPMENT OPERATOR II
As a machinery operator, you spend your day working directly with light to heavy equipment. Your work typically involves coordinating the maintenance and operation of city equipment with minimal supervision. Construction and industrial maintenance projects generally fill up your day, and these involve the use of rollers, graders, backhoes, front-end loaders, forklifts, dump trucks, or bulldozers. Your job is essential to the city, and you perform maintenance on designated streets, utility systems, landfills, and including providing trash & debris collections services for residents while safely following city policies and procedures. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. This can include emergency situations such as floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, accidents, and hazardous material spills.
When you aren't out in the city, you generally are back at the office filling out daily reports and other forms for machinery use, service requests, and inventory control. Minimum Qualifications

Job Summary:
The Machine Operator is responsible for ensuring product quality, customer specifications, efficiency and productivity targets are consistently met, and the safe operating of machinery used in the production process. Perform daily pre-operational and post-operational checks and complete corresponding documentation.
Set up the line; ensure the line is adequately supplied with the correct product and labels as indicated by the production board; regularly review to ensure any changes are captured and communicated to workers on the line.
Calibrate the HMI; adjust the programing to meet the needs of different packaging and products.
Monitor and control the machine performance and settings; trouble shoot error codes; report to engineer issues and concerns.
Direct workers tasks: instruct in the correct grading, sorting and packing requirements to ensure company standards are consistently met with the focus of maximizing quality and productivity; support and provide guidance when necessary.
Communicate and address variances, quality issues and concerns with Production Supervisor; help identify the causes and implement sustainable corrective action.
Monitor the working environment to ensure compliance of company and statutory hygiene, good manufacturing practices, food safety, health and safety policies and procedures.
Assist in providing training to trainee machine operators on all lines.
Perform daily routine cleaning on the machines in use, complete proper paperwork.
Perform weekly documented PM (preventive maintenance on the machines.) Use SOPs to perform the PM's.
Escalate any issues or defect with the machine through our workorder system. (Limble.)

The Warehouse Forklift Operator plays a key role in the fast-paced distribution environment of Peakopia Produce. This position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts and warehouse equipment to move fresh produce, load and unload trucks, stage orders, organize inventory, and support overall warehouse flow. Accuracy, speed, and attention to detail are essential to maintaining Peakopias high standards of quality, food safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Forklift & Equipment Operation
Operate sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, and pallet jacks to move product throughout the warehouse.
Load and unload inbound and outbound trucks according to load sheets and customer orders.
Stage orders in the correct loading zones and ensure pallets are stacked, wrapped, and secured properly.
Transport product to designated storage locations, following proper rotation (FIFO) and lot-tracking procedures.
Inventory & Warehouse Organization
Assist with receiving: verify counts, inspect product condition, tag pallets, and deliver to storage areas.
Maintain accurate product placement within cold storage rooms and dry storage areas.
Help conduct regular inventory counts and cycle counts.
Keep aisles, coolers, and common areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
Quality & Compliance
Follow all food safety, FSMA, Primus, and Peakopia Produce internal standards.
Inspect forklift and equipment daily; report any mechanical issues immediately.
Handle all produce with care to minimize shrink, damage, and loss.
Follow warehouse safety protocols at all times.
General Warehouse Support
Assist with restacking, sorting, and consolidating inventory when needed.
Support QC team with product pulls and sample movement.
Collaborate with warehouse associates and shipping staff to maintain smooth workflow.
Complete tasks assigned by management in a timely and efficient manner.
Qualifications
1+ year of forklift operating experience (sit-down required; stand-up is a plus).
Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain one through Peakopia Produce.
Experience working in cold storage environments is preferred.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail, situational awareness, and safety focus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Basic English or Spanish communication skills; bilingual preferred.
