Duties and Responsibilities:
Work Habits (40%)
Conducts theoretical and technical training classes for commercial vehicles using established training materials to present formal class training exercises, simulation, lab work, and practical applications for classes in heavy equipment (tractor, excavator, dozer, etc.)
Provides hands-on training un advanced applications, training, and test preparations in equipment inspection, skill maneuvers, and operator skills.
Uses established training materials to present training exercises and practice in preparing students to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle.
Provides training in policy and procedures in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations applying to heave equipment such as OSHA and NCCER, and required to stay current by researching new regulations annually.
Maintains a safe and secure classroom/lab/training field environment conducive to effective learning.
Evaluate and review students' progress in attaining goals and objectives.
Institutional Support (30%)
Prepare and provide course syllabi and instructional materials to students.
Assist with the retention of program students.
Maintain competency and knowledge of current practices and trends in the heavy equipment industry.
Utilize technology to access data, maintain records (testing, grades, etc.), generate reports, communicate with others and facilitate learning.
Responsible for follow-up data of students within the assigned program(s) of instruction such as student attendance, IBCs earned and student completions.
Maintain program equipment; requests adequate equipment, submits quotes for repairs and consumable supplies in a timely manner to support program instruction.
Partner with business and industry, including participating in advisory committee meetings, to promote the heavy equipment operator program.
Remains current in academic program or program discipline, including attending professional conferences and maintaining licensure, certification, or continuing education requirements where appropriate.
Perform other duties as required/assigned.

Required Education:

Required Experience:
Five (5) years of heavy equipment operator experience.
NCCER Core certification within the first 90 days of employment.
OSHA certification within the first 90 days of employment.
Basic knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance.
Must be able to properly demonstrate how to safely operate heave equipment and perform safety checks.

Direct the team as needed with clear and timely communications. Maintain a continuous learning ambition to gain knowledge and skills to enable an operator to rotate in each job role based on the outlined time frame in the training matrix.
Environment / Context:
This individual will address all immediate activities associated with producing chemicals in three production plants. A successful candidate will begin on the job training and progress through four different levels that consist of lab operations, outside operations, batch board operations and continuous board operations. The Operator is responsible for operating a given number of plastic blow molding machines (including in-line equipment), and makes necessary adjustments or minor repairs to ensure production of containers is made in a safe, efficient and high quality manner. The primary duties of an Operator include:

+ Make frequent on time quality checks on products being produced from established quality standards.

+ Maintain work area to acceptable safety and housekeeping standards.
+ Complete and file all required documentation in an orderly and timely manner.
+ Communicate with the Production Shift Supervisor to coordinate production line support staff in accomplishing the lines' objectives.
+ Verify material usage per standards
+ Perform minor troubleshooting and programming on the line. Notify leads and supervisors of any major problems or questions.
+ Operate equipment to minimize the generation and maximize the consumption of regrind, purge and scrap within customer specifications where applicable.
+ Properly identify regrind and chunk produced.
+ Communicate processing information to designated personnel on incoming shift. Assist other Operators as needed.
+ Assist in the training of new Operators.
+ Limited travel may be required
**Qualifications**
A minimum of 2 years in manufacturing required.
