Job Description Position Purpose: Responsible for total operation of deep well injection location, including the operation and servicing of equipment, offloading and transfer of waste, extraction and fingerprint analysis for compatibility, QA/QC, and preparation of requisite operating logs Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Receives weekly Deepwell Schedule. Plans and implements offloading, processing, waste disposal, and documentation of all activities. Extracts representative waste samples from scrubber blow-down, injection tank, and batch tanks, completes appropriate labeling, and maintains record keeping on sampling according to established standards. Understands and performs the following quality criteria, basic lab procedures, and equipment usage: QA/QC Program Centrifuge Documentation pH Meter pH Filtration Meter Fingerprint Analysis Radiation Meter Specific Gravity Specific Gravity Burette Compatibility Flashpoint Completes inspection of all process equipment on a 2-hour basis. Replenishes chemical tanks, monitors equipment performance, inspects hoses and sumps, adjusts operating parameters (level, blowdown, flow rates, metering pumps, etc.), and services equipment (clears lines, minor repairs, preventative maintenance). Provides analytical and specialized administrative support, troubleshooting, and coordination activities of a non-routine nature. Investigates and analyzes problems for expedient resolution. Maintains inventory of critical spare parts, chemicals, and laboratory supplies; initiates requisition for replacements. Participates in training programs. Assists in training other employees and in writing and updating SDPs and safety review procedures. Performs daily calibration of equipment. Answers phones, open mail, distributes messages, and makes copies as needed. Observes, instructs, and leads truck drivers and outside contractors to insure compliance with plant health, safety, and security rules. Issues confined space, hot work, line-breaking permits and performs lockout/tag out as needed. Performs RCRA and Safety inspections as required. Maintains housekeeping standards and personal protective equipment in work areas. Assists in performing plant maintenance, cleanup, and repairs during downtime. Performs other duties as requested by supervisor. Other work related duties as assigned.
