Job Description Under general supervision of the Sanitation Supervisor, employee is responsible for the collection and transportation of solid waste collected from assigned routes within the areas of the City of Weslaco; with the use of heavy equipment such as a side/front-end and/or Rolloff Truck, in connection with the City's Trash Pick-up Program. Performs routine maintenance on equipment before operating such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning. Employee is required to perform all similar or related duties. May work extended hours on weekdays and/or on weekends depending on workload. Essential Job Functions Operates heavy equipment to transport large quantities of solid refuse collected throughout assigned trash pickup route to ensure safe and clean residential and commercial areas free from garbage. HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR PAY GRADE: 112 - $ 37,678.00 minimum salary Purpose of Classification Performs technical work in the maintenance, repair, and/or construction of road and drainage infrastructure.
