A key component of Owens Corning success, the Medina Roofing plant has been making roofing shingles for over 50 years. We are open 24 hours a day, which means you may not have a typical schedule. As a Full-Time team member, you would work 36 hours one week and 48 hours the following week. Full-Time work schedules may include overtime hours.
It's a physical job! If you have never worked in a manufacturing environment before, you should understand that you will be on your feet for 90% - 95% of your shift. It also gets loud. This role is a shipper / receiver position in the Graphics Mentor Distribution Center. Standard workweek is Monday through Friday. Regular work hours to be determined. In this role, you will work 1st shift, M-F 10's - Off Wed, Sat, Sunday.

Pull bulk rolls for finishing assets - practice FIFO - bring oldest material to the machines
Bring pallets to Finishing area

Consolidate materials: move small rolls to Vpans, put pallets/racks into open racking, work with coating lines to consolidate Renolit racks. Etc.
Break down and store metal and plastic Bulk Racks
Stretch wrap pallets of product coming from finishing
Load finished goods onto trucks for DC as needed
Unload trailers as required
Pull QA's MPI sample list and return when finished
Pull edited rolls from the editor (Finishing pick up rolls from Editor and put them away, Coating Drop off rolls to be run to the editor)
Remove Scrap from Finishing- Replace Gaylord and scrap racks
Pick up and transfer material racks, pallets, and other consumable supplies to/from production areas as required.
Bring empty racks to DUSE as needed for specific orders (Modagrfix, Liner / face jobs) Remove racks and Pallets of finished a Goods from DUSE when finished as needed
Replenish cores at MU2 when asked by the operator
Remove scrap and broken pallets from Finishing floor (and anywhere else they find them). Stack them properly and load them onto scrap truck
If RCRA Certified- be available to unload and put away Totes if no other DOT Cert. drivers are available
Operate floor scrubbing machine and clean floor in finishing department at least

In this role, you will work at Building 19, Night Shift, 11PM-7AM, Monday-Friday.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:
* Perform preventive maintenance on equipment from verbal instructions, work orders, and operating manuals.
* Troubleshoot problems and breakdowns (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic) on all equipment, processes, and facilities.
* Able to construct electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic circuits and systems from drawings.
* Able to run electrical conduit.
* Repair and adjust regulating and control equipment.
* Inspect, clean, and maintain AC/ DC motors.
* Able to plan work flow to complete scheduled tasks in a safe manner within the allotted time frame.
* Recognize deviations from standard conditions and report to team leader.
* Properly document all maintenance activities.
* Follow training and procedures established by the quality group.
* Maintain good housekeeping in work area.
* Follow a continuous improvement process with a team approach to problem solving and decision-making.
* Understand and ensure compliance with ISO goal.
* Respond to calls for emergency repairs on off shift hours.
* Adhere to company policies and procedures.
* Perform other tasks as assigned.
Required:
* High School diploma or GED.
* Minimum of 3-5 years experience providing mechanical and electrical maintenance support in a manufacturing environment.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with other departments.
* Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems.
* Pipe fitting experience (water, steam, and air).
* Experience with AC/DC drive systems.
* Knowledgeable in the use of electrical test equipment.
* Comply with all applicable environmental, health, safety, and industrial regulations.
* Able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
* Physical ability to lift, stand, and move around for extended periods.
* Able to safely and effectively use ladders to perform work at heights.
* Proficient with computer applications.

Role Overview
We are looking for a highly capable UV Digital Ink Formulator (PhD) to lead and execute research and development of UV/LED curable inks-from concept through commercialization. You will work cross-functionally (R&D, applications, quality, manufacturing, regulatory) to drive formulation innovation through raw material selection, assessment of physical performance properties, regulatory compliance and scale-up readiness. Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of next generation UV/LED-curable digital ink formulations: select ink components such as monomers/oligomers, photoinitiators, dispersions and additives to create ink formulations for performance on various substrates.
Manage multiple product development projects, focused on ink-jet inks design and improvement, while achieving targeted costs, project timing, and customer and regulatory specifications
Design, execute and analyse experiments to optimize cure behaviour, adhesion, flexibility, print performance, colour stability, shelf life, print-head compatibility and durability (mechanical, chemical, environmental).
Validate ink performance through printing in-house and working with customers.
Carry out on-site hands-on ink formulation, testing and printing.
Translate customer and market requirements (industrial printing, direct-to-object, packaging graphics) into technical specifications and formulation targets.
Scale-up promising formulations from lab to pilot manufacturing; work with manufacturing/compounding teams to ensure batch reproducibility, process robustness, cost targets and quality metrics.
Support regulatory and sustainability initiatives: ensure inks meet environmental, health & safety standards and support requested certifications and compliance requirements..
Generate technical documentation: formulation records, test method protocols, stability/aging studies, failure analyses, root-cause investigations, and intellectual property capture (patent ideas).
Mentor junior chemists/technicians, share best practices in UV chemistry, photopolymerisation, and ink-system engineering.
Stay abreast of emerging UV/LED photochemistry, ink-jet / digital printing trends, new substrates and materials to position us ahead of competition.
Qualifications
Required:
PhD in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Material Science or closely related discipline (emphasis on photopolymerisation or UV curable systems).
Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience developing UV/LED curable coatings or inks in industrial environments.
Strong analytical skills: experience with rheology, particle-size measurement, surface tensiometry, cure-testing, adhesion testing, environmental aging.
Hands-on lab experience with formulation and small-scale compounding, plus experience facilitating scale-up to pilot/production.
Excellent organization and written documentation of experimentation planning, results and analysis.
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills; ability to translate technical detail into business value.
Comfortable in a global business environment; able to manage multiple projects and priorities.
Team player with excellent interpersonnel interaction skills
Ability to apply learnings from research to proceed to commercialization in an expedited manner
Preferred:
Deep working knowledge of photoinitiator systems, UV/LED cure chemistry, oligomer/monomer networks and adhesion science.
Extensive experience in digital printing and ink-jet ink formulation for packaging and direct-to-object substrates.
Patent-filing experience or strong innovation track record.
Experience working in a matrixed global organisation, with manufacturing and quality teams.
