WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Provide leadership and direction for the fish passage and stream team, including staff development, workload management, and mentoring.
Build and expand client relationships, pursue new opportunities, and contribute to the business development and strategic planning.
Lead the design and delivery of fish passage projects , including culvert replacements, stream simulation, and habitat connectivity improvements
Manage projects budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure successful outcomes.
Serve as the technical leader in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to support planning and design.
Prepare and review engineering calculations, design drawings, technical reports, and construction documents.
Conduct and supervise site assessments, field investigations, and data collection.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and staff.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including biologists, planners, and environmental scientists.
Support permitting and regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local agencies.
Communicate effectively with clients, agencies, and stakeholders to advance project goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington State.
10+ years of progressive experience in water resources engineering, including hydrology and hydraulics with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
WSDOT Fish Passage and Stream Restoration Design certification or ability to obtain it within 1-year.
Proficiency with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, or related design software.
Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing construction documents.
Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
PREFERRED:
Direct experience with fish passage design, stream restoration, or aquatic habitat projects.
Knowledge of Washington State permitting requirements (WSDOT, WDFW, Ecology, and local jurisdictions).
Familiarity with GIS applications.
Master's degree in water resources or environmental engineering.

About the Role:
The Special Projects Division of KPFF is growing and looking for an ambitious and initiative-driven Junior or Senior level Mechanical Engineering student for a summer internship in the Seattle Office of our Special Projects Group. Our mechanical engineering group specializes in heavy machinery and movable structures design, typically associated with large heavy civil, transportation, structural, industrial and waterfront infrastructure projects throughout the US, with a focus on the West Coast and Pacific Northwest. RH2 Engineering is currently seeking a Payroll/Accounting Specialist in our Bothell (corporate) location. This position supports RH2's payroll, bookkeeping, reporting, taxes, and accounting activities for the organization.
With your skills you will:
Be responsible for receiving and processing daily AR financials, posting to general ledger and reconciling accounts. Maintain all AR files and vendors in ERP along with supporting documentation.
Monitor and reconcile corporate banking accounts; provide notices and reports when variances occur. Work with Corporate Controller on banking issues that impact payroll, payables and cash balances.
Review and approve weekly timesheets in preparation for bi-weekly payroll upload in HCM. KPFF Special Projects is seeking a senior-level Project Engineer or Project Manager to serve as an Owner's Representative on a $1B export facility EPCM project in Washington State. This is a high-impact leadership role requiring deep expertise in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) delivery.
You will work with an engineering team as the owner's advocate, ensuring alignment of design, procurement, and construction activities with project objectives, budget, and schedule. This position offers the opportunity to influence strategic decisions, manage risk, and deliver a world-class industrial facility.
What You'll Be Doing:
Represent the owner's interests across all phases: planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
Oversee EPCM contractor performance, ensuring compliance with scope, schedule, and budget.
Lead coordination among architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders.
Manage risk, change orders, and cost control strategies.
Conduct constructability reviews and monitor quality assurance.
Prepare progress reports and facilitate decision-making meetings.

Located in downtown Seattle, our office is seeking an experienced Senior Stormwater Engineer to support major projects throughout the Pacific Northwest. This position will support transportation projects and associated hydraulic elements, primarily stormwater design. This position requires the candidate to utilize their expertise in water resources engineering related projects, including stormwater facilities design; surface water hydrology and hydraulic analysis and design; culvert and bridge hydraulics; stream and habitat restoration analysis and design; preparation of engineering and construction plans, specifications, and estimates; and coordination with regulatory agencies for project permitting. It will be the responsibility of the position to perform engineering design and to provide a high-quality product to our clients.
Position Responsibilities:
This position allows you to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with clients in the public sector and work on all phases of transportation projects. Responsibilities include:
Support a wide range of engineering projects for roadway and transit improvements, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, site development, fish passage, and ecological restoration.
Perform stormwater related design, analysis, and report generation for roadways, bridges, airports, and related transportation infrastructure.
Provide detailed engineering calculations for design of stormwater and fish passage facilities.\
Create hydrologic and hydraulic models.
Responsible for design of water resources systems and facilities including hydraulic analysis for stream crossings and evaluating for fish passage and scour.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in design, planning, and implementation of stormwater and hydraulic elements on transportation projects specific to hydraulic and hydrologic (H&H) design.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with Engineering in Training certification.
Experience with design of stormwater conveyance, flow control, water quality treatment, and low impact development BMPs.
Project experience with fish passage design projects including H&H modeling, culvert design, stream restoration, and associated civil design.
Design experience using Washington State stormwater design manuals; DOE SWMMWW, WSDOT HRM, WSDOT Hydraulic Manual, WDFW Crossing Guidelines.
Proficiency and experience using hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software; MGSFlood, WWHM, Stormshed 3G, and HEC-RAS.
H&H design calculation experience including conveyance sizing, basin hydrology, culvert sizing, and scour calculations.
Experience creating construction plan sets, specifications, and cost estimates.
Working proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Strong communication skills for coordination with clients and team members.
