Specific Role: The Wet Painter is a key role in EMIT's manufacturing facility, responsible for applying wet paint to prepped parts with precision and consistency. This position supports the flow of production by ensuring parts are painted, finished, and transferred on schedule to the next stage. Wet Painters play a critical part in maintaining EMIT's quality standards and keeping equipment and work areas organized, safe, and production-ready.
Key Accountabilities:
* Apply paint to prepped parts and/or materials according to the manufacturing order (MO).
* Mix and prepare paint and related materials as specified in the MO.
* Ensure all finished products meet defined quality standards.
* Execute the daily scheduled production expectations provided by leadership.
* Maintain, clean, and organize the paint booth, including walls, floors, filters, rigging, racks, and equipment.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* 2+ years of experience in painting, coating, or a related manufacturing role preferred.
* Knowledge of paint mixing, spray equipment, and finishing techniques.
* Strong attention to detail to achieve consistent and high-quality results.
* Ability to follow detailed instructions and manufacturing orders accurately.
* Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
* Commitment to following all PPE requirements and workplace safety protocols.
Physical & Safety Requirements:
* Ability to lift up to 50-75 lbs. repeatedly.
* Comfortable standing, walking, and moving for the duration of a shift.

Operate lifting and moving devices to move materials and equipment and access areas.
Responsible for cleaning, sanding, and applying chemical solutions to prepare and condition surfaces prior to painting.
Mask and cover surfaces not to be painted; removing accessories such as chrome, mirrors and windshield wipers.
Mix and thin paint or other coating to specified color and consistency according to standard formulas or color charts.
Spray specified amount or thickness of primer, protective, decorative, or finish coatings, such as paint, lacquer, sealer, or enamel, onto prepared surfaces.

SUMMARY
The Painter is responsible for preparing the product per instructions and operating various painting equipment and methods without supervision. This position must be able to titrate spray wash and adjust as needed. The Painter also inspects material for any runs, sags or unpainted areas and retouches as required per specifications. The role will perform required maintenance on paint equipment as needed. A successful candidate is a self-motivated multi-tasker with excellent attendance who utilizes a strong work ethic to ensure all paint quality levels are met.
RESPONSIBILITIES
