Processes (corrects and resubmits) manual claims for third party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and performs other clerical duties, as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
Assists and supports Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as, ordering, unpacking, checking and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals. Maintains knowledge of Company asset protection techniques, and files claims for warehouse overages (merchandise received, but not billed), shortages (merchandise billed, but not received), order errors or damaged goods involving Rx drugs.
May assist pharmacist in administering clinical services including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients and other clinical services as required; assists pharmacy staff in coordination of clinical services, Walgreens healthcare clinics and external providers.
Assists Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in developing and maintaining good relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other health care providers, by medical provider detailing and outreach to health groups, retirement homes, nursing homes, and other forums for enhancing growth opportunities.
Assists with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat and orderly in condition and appearance.

Responsibilities
Under immediate direction of a qualified licensed Nuclear Staff Pharmacist, the Nuclear Pharmacy Intern assists with basic high-tech pharmacy services by preparing, dispensing, and distributing quality radiopharmaceuticals according to the rules and regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy. This role has responsibility for:
· Assisting in preparing and dispensing radiopharmaceuticals in keeping with the prescription and Company, State and Federal regulations

· Assisting in assaying medications to determine identity, purity and strength
· Assisting in performing white blood cell labeling

Works under the direct supervision of the pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care services, while considering patient specific factors, through the prioritization and processing of medication orders, the preparing of medications for dispensing, distribution and stocking of patient care locations for subsequent drug administration. Performs data collections, assembly and interpretation for limited quality programs. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Practices the Medication-Use Process: Procures, handles, prepares, distributes, charges/credits and disposes of medication safely and accurately.
Manages own pharmacy practice effectively.
Participates in inventory management.
Uses and maintains automation/equipment.
Assists the pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care to patients.
Provides education/training.
Processes and prepares sterile products for dispensing.
Contributes to goals, programs and report cards for operational unit and entity.
Completes assigned goals.

Experience
Minimum Required
Previous experience in setting involving medication distribution.
Preferred/Desired
Experience with automated pharmacy equipment. Previous hospital experience.
Education
