Assists pharmacists in performing a variety of duties related to the provision of pharmaceutical care to patients. Obtains supplies, prepares and labels drug orders under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Calculates and compounds aliquot doses.
Distributes and/or transports medications to appropriate patient care areas in a timely manner and under a pharmacist's supervision.
Makes beneficial recommendations for improvements in procedures, guidelines and continuing education training.
Monitors inventory levels, stocks shelve, maintains order and cleanliness in assigned areas and maintains all required records.
Receives and/or initiates verbal medication orders if authorized to do so by his/her supervising pharmacist.
Serves as a good steward of the institution's resources, including time on the job.
Provides training and participates in the in servicing of departmental employees and students.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Required Skills & Abilities
Minimum one year experience in a retail or long-term care pharmacy; 3+ years preferred.
Must possess a SC State Board of Pharmacy Technician License.
Must have 1+ year experience in pharmacy Order Entry duties.
Experience with FrameworkLTC is preferred, not required.
Type an average of 60 wpm.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Can meet order deadlines.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Understands basic pharmacy language to interpret prescriptions.
Can perform pharmacy calculations.
Is available for occasional overtime.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to withstand long hours of computer screen time.
Repetitive motion deskwork.
