State/Federal Mandated Licensure or Certification Requirements: Certified Pharmacy Technician within 24 months of hire (unless current UCONN pharmacy student). Certified Registration with the Department of Consumer Protection. Bristol Hospital Mandated Educational Requirements: General orientation at time of hire. Fire/Safety/Infection Control annually. Other programs as mandated by Hospital. Must be willing to be floated or reassigned to another department, unit, office, or location as needed. Special Requirements: Six months learning time. Physical Requirements: Considerable physical activity - i.e. a combination of walking, sitting, bending, lifting, and standing, throughout the work period. Typically on feet much of the day. Manual dexterity requisite. Work Environment: Central Pharmacy and Patient Care locations. Ability to work in a variable environment that will include a rapidpace, frequently changing conditions, and work related distractions. Moderate exposure to hazardous substances found in the Pharmacy. Cognitive Requirements: Literate in English, verbal and written communication skills, ability to perform pharmacy mathematical calculations. Computer and keypunch knowledge. Ability to adapt to constant changes and thrive.
