Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA)-Northeast Corridor A Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant provides coordinated occupational therapy to patients of all age groups under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist. Participates in the coordination of care. Essential functions: * Provides services that are ordered by the physician as indicated in the plan of care, as developed, delegated, and supervised by the Occupational Therapist (OT). Completes appropriate documentation in a timely manner. * Facilitates patients' ROM, strength, coordination, use of adaptive equipment, environmental modifications, functional mobility, and safety issues as related to patients' ADL performance under the supervision of the OT. * Applies concepts of infection control and standard precautions in coordinating and performing patient care activities to prevent contamination and transmission of disease. * Accepts clinical assignments that are consistent with education and competence to care for patients. * Uses effective interpersonal relations and communication skills to provide patient and caregiver education. * Promotes compliance with all fiscal intermediary and/or other third-party payors, through education, coaching, and other assistance, as necessary. * Demonstrates commitment, professional growth, and competency. * Participates in the Agency's QAPI program. * Meets mandatory continuing education requirements; participates in the Agency sponsored in-service trainings.
