Working Conditions: Normal office environmental and/or power plant environment out-of-doors work environment. Out-of-doors environment at generating plant work locations includes: * Work in and around rotating equipment, high voltage electrical equipment, high noise areas and elevations up to 150 feet. * Work in all temperatures and climatic conditions. Some temperatures can be extreme. * Work in confined spaces, some requiring the use of respirator protective equipment. * Performance of duties requires response to calls 24 hours/day, seven days/week and working irregular shifts. * Emergency situations will require the use of a respirator and climbing stairs to reach safety shelters. * Facial hair in the sealing area of a respirator is not permitted. * Contact lenses are not permitted except for specific medical reasons. * Substantial footwear must be worn in accordance with the current Safety Shoe Policy. Minimum Requirements: Education: * High school diploma or GED. Experience: * 3 years' experience as a Plant Operator in a power plant environment or equivalent experience and skill to include on-the job training. * Possess a valid State Driver's License * A TWIC card is required to work on the PEMEX facility. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Complete Gas Turbine Fundamentals Course. * Ability to use addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to perform flow, pressure, and meter calculations. * Read and interpret blueprints, schematic diagrams, procedures, and technical manuals. * Operate computer keyboards, printers, and other electronic equipment. * Communicate conditions of plant system and equipment to others. * Discern and respond to verbal and auditory signals from control panel. * Work without supervision inspection while carrying out duties. * Take, record, and analyze readings of various electrical and mechanical meters. * Knowledge of and ability to operate various switches and valves and the effect each has on the total operation. * Ability to operate Company vehicles and equipment (e.g., forklift, cherry picker, etc.) and maintain operating licenses and certifications.
