* Understands hazards of various gases; size and contents of cylinders by reading and interpreting cylinder labels and the color-coding of tanks. Accurately labels cylinders.
* Handles high-pressure, medical and liquid cylinders. Attaches cylinders to manifold, evacuates cylinders to eliminate all possible contaminants.
* Performs basic cylinder maintenance such as painting cylinders, labeling cylinders, and cleaning of work area.
* Inspects cylinders prior to filling, following standard procedures as required by government, Airgas, and distributor standards. Conducts a variety of Safety checks per procedures, such as odor tests, checking caps and valves.
* Fills cylinders by pressure and weight, per regulations and standards.
* Checks for cylinder quantities, styles and product, and/or assists with inventory
* Manages paperwork to DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards. Completes quality control sheets as required.
* Complies with all government and company standards relating to the safe handling of hazardous materials/cylinder gases.

Summary:

JOB SUMMARY
Delek US - Big Spring Refinery is looking to hire our next Refinery Operator Trainee class to join our team! In this entry-level position, the Refinery Operator Trainee will help ensure the safe and efficient operation of our refinery process by monitoring, maintaining, and running various machines used in the refinery process. You'll work closely with our Unit Operator, reporting readings, opening, and closing valves, operating pumps, taking required samples, and performing incidental maintenance tasks. Plus, as a Refinery Operator Trainee, you'll be required and have the opportunity to join our fire brigade or emergency response team. COMPENSATION AND ADVANCEMENT OPPORTUNITIES During the training period, you'll receive 10 hour/day training from 6 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Thursday at a competitive rate of $32.79/per hour. Upon successful completion of training and testing, your regular schedule will operate on an industry DuPont 12-hour rotation: Compensated at a $28.77 hourly rate for the first 8 hours & $43.16 for the remaining 4 hours, with a fixed schedule of 7 shifts per pay period (biweekly). Any overtime worked outside the scheduled shifts will be rewarded at a rate of $49.19.
Please note that these hourly rates are separate from the 3.5% merit raise scheduled for 2025.

Water Treatment Operator Reports to: Field Service Manager
Water Treatment Operator will safely and satisfactorily perform the work assigned at the locations of the company. Understanding of basic oil field chemistry is a major plus. The Water Treatment Technician will have to work at heights of 15' or greater to confirm tank levels and perform necessary maintenance.
DUTIES AND REPSONSIBILITIES:
Laying and picking up poly line, running transfer pumps, and essential equipment for water treatment operations. As well as all associated lab testing for H2S, ORP, pH, Turbidity, TSS, iron, residual chemical and TPH/TOG.
Chemical dosing of produced water based on water quality, rates, and customer demands.
Loading and unloading pipe, field materials, and equipment onto trailers and trucks for safe transport.
Observing machine operations, and gauges, and adjust controls to maintain specified conditions.
Setting and servicing pumps and generators at job sites.
Following all safety procedures and using proper PPE as required per specific job task.
Assist in containment and spill clean ups.
Communicating with other workers, using signals, radios, and telephones.
Communicating with other companies, including customers.
Using common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
Driving trucks and other vehicles to transport equipment, personnel and perform job task.
Attending and successfully completing training as directed for DOT, OSHA and safety.

Summary: Under close supervision, performs basic maintenance work in the operation of a City Water Treatment (WT) Plant; learns to monitor, inspect, maintain, and adjust equipment according to job specifications and Utilities Department technical standards.
Essential Functions:

Assists in the operation of water treatment and distribution facilities, or wastewater collection and treatment facilities; duties will vary according to job assignment and skill level.
Collects WT samples, and takes meter readings.
Observes and monitors manual and automatic equipment; learns the operation of pumps, compressors, valves and other electrical and electronic equipment to control and adjust WT flow and treatment processes; learns Department operating and technical policies and procedures.
Observes and reports variations in operating conditions; records meter and gauge readings; reports anomalies to supervisor.
Maintains plant work areas, tools, and equipment in a safe and orderly condition; performs minor preventive maintenance on WT equipment.
