Summary: The Assistant Press Operator assists the Press Operator and Lead Press operator in the basic setup and maintenance of the presses verifying proper paper sheet sizes and types. They are also responsible for ensuring that all presses are supplied and fed with required quantities of paper and other consumables.
Schedule:
3rd shift, Sunday - Thursday, eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs. Primary schedule will be 9:00 PM - 5:30 AM, or similar. Training may occur at other times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Checks paper sheet size/type etc., and verify materials required
Assists with managing the preparation of next jobs to be printed
Assist with press maintenance tasks and cleaning
Support the Lead Press Operator by completing tasks as directed to keep the press running
Actively remove waste items for recycling
Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
Ensure all equipment, tools, and workstation are in good working order and is free of safety hazards
Report workplace hazards to management immediately
Wear all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required
Report all work related injuries, illnesses, and/or near misses to management immediately
Keep all work area/station in compliance with our housekeeping guidelines
Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations
Maintain departmental housekeeping standards, such as keeping floors swept and absent of debris that may be a work hazard
Regularly perform general housekeeping duties in your work area(s)
Adhere to all safety policies and protocols and maintain a safe working environment
Attend all department/company meetings

* Keep all on-site parts and supplies stocked and well organized. Maintain plant inventory.
* Respond to call outs in a timely manner. Identify and correct the cause of the call out. If the problem cannot be corrected or diagnosed, it is the responsibility of the operator to contact the area manager to get the help required to fix the situation.
* Operate the plant with a clear focus on safety. Clean up spills immediately. Make sure all lighting systems are fully functional; no slip or trip hazards are consistently present; and no electrical or mechanical hazards go on for long periods of time without attention. Affirm that all plant visitors, mechanics, and outside contractors are following safe work practices.
* Works with internal resources to resolve problems.
* Ensures adherence to company policies, procedures, regulatory compliance, and safety requirements.

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Mechanic with experience in steam power generation to join our team as a Mechanic and PlantOperator at a small steam boiler power plant in West Covina, CA. This position blends hands-on mechanical maintenance with operational oversight of steam generation systems. Reporting to the Lead PlantOperator, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring reliable plant performance, maintaining equipment integrity, and supporting safe, efficient power production. The primary objectives of this role are to maximize output, minimize downtime, and uphold the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and environmental compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operate, monitor, and maintain steam boiler systems, turbines, and auxiliary equipment.
Conduct daily checks of operating equipment, including flow meters, gas chromatographs, fluid levels, pressure and temperature readings, and unusual noises to identify and correct issues before failure occurs.
Sample feedwater and boiler water regularly, analyze results, and maintain proper water chemistry to ensure safe and efficient boiler operation.
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems, pumps, valves, and rotating machinery.
Install, align, and repair industrial equipment in accordance with millwright standards.
Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues to minimize downtime.
Assist in planning and scheduling maintenance activities.
Maintain detailed records of production data, equipment operating hours, service schedules, inspections, and maintenance activities.
Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations to ensure compliance.
Maintain a high level of cleanliness in and around the plant: prevent oil accumulation, keep equipment and floors presentable, and maintain the yard and perimeter fence.
Keep all on-site parts and supplies stocked, organized, and inventoried.
Operate the plant with a strong focus on safety: clean spills immediately, ensure lighting systems are functional, eliminate slip/trip hazards, and promptly address electrical or mechanical issues. Confirm that all visitors, mechanics, and contractors follow safe work practices.
Work with internal resources to resolve operational and mechanical problems.
Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
Communicate material and personnel issues clearly to area managers.

Qualifications and Skills
High school diploma/ GED equivalent
Unlimited Steam License or Minimum 3-5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and plantoperations, ideally in power generation.
Journeyman- level Industrial Mechanic or Millwright certification is preferred.
Proficiency in equipment alignment, rigging, and mechanical assembly.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM OPERATOR
In this role, you will help support the operation of two water treatment systems, including a high-density sludge (HDS) treatment plant and a sulfate-reducing bioreactor. A DAY IN THE LIFE
As a key member of the team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
Coordinate operation, maintenance, and repair of water treatment equipment and associated well field and support equipment.
Perform and direct activities to ensure that codes, standards, and water treatment objectives are met while being environmentally conscious.
Operate and control motors, pumps, and valves for vapor and water treatment systems.
Collect water samples and coordinate laboratory analysis.
Self-perform periodic maintenance activities and manage subcontractors for specialized equipment service.
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical process equipment for initial diagnoses.
Be an integral part of our safety culture, approaching all aspects of work with a safety-first attitude.
Maintain effective communication with project team members.
Plan and schedule work to meet required timelines.
Manage and maintain daily operations logs, inventory, site consumables and vendor service contracts
