About The Role - Material Handler (Upton, WY)
We are excited to announce an opportunity at Orica for a Material Handler within our Orica USA Logistics and Distribution team.
The Material Handler plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate handling of materials at Orica's transload facility in Upton, WY, which operates 7 days a week. This facility includes four silos and supports the daily transfer of ammonium nitrate from railcars to trucks. The role involves operating material handling equipment, performing physical labor-including sledgehammer work in hot conditions-and working at elevated heights to maintain paddle chain conveyors. Maintaining accurate inventory records and adhering to strict safety protocols are essential responsibilities of this position.
Work schedule
Work shift rotation: 4 days on (8-hour shifts), 2 days off
Must be open to working on-site in Upton, WY for all scheduled shifts.
The work schedule includes Sunday through Saturday, with weekend and holiday work required.
Overtime may be available but is not guaranteed or consistent.

Material Handling: Loading and unloading products between railcars and trucks using appropriate equipment and techniques.
Inventory Accuracy: Recording all product movements in the system immediately upon completion to maintain real-time inventory accuracy.
Documentation: Accurately documenting shipping weights, batch IDs, and truck IDs.
Team Collaboration: Working closely with team members to maintain a positive, productive, and safety-conscious work environment.
Continuous Improvement: Bringing a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow within the role.
Inspections & Compliance: Performing monthly inspections and inventory checks on ammonium nitrate. Also, ensuring all tasks are completed in compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates.
You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement.
Physical Effort: Heavy physical effort is used by the operator in constantly reaching, bending, turning, and moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to handle controls to operate the equipment and attachments. Frequent adjustments to the equipment is required under the more adverse operating conditions on the rough terrain. Considerable strain is caused by the constant vibration of the equipment and the jerking and jolting from operating on rough surfaces. During fire suppression assignments, the operator is exposed to smoky conditions, fire burns, and other similar conditions.
As a line firefighter this position is subject to the Bureau's step test and arduous physical requirements for firefighters.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in all types of weather, often in an open driver's seat on hills, slopes, grades, rolling surfaces, and forests. The operator is exposed to continuously to injury due to the possibility of the equipment overturning or to the possibility of being overrun by the wildfire. The operator is subject to noise, vibration, dust, dirt, and fumes from the motor and exhaust and to smoke from wildfires.

There is no substitution of education for experience for Wage Grade (WG) positions.

The bunkhouse was built on the east side of Dubois in the early 2000's on the Forest Service Work Center compound next door to two Forest Service warehouses, and a horse corral.

The MBMG's Ground Water Investigation Program studies local- to regional-scale hydrogeologic systems, with projects that encompass groundwater/surface-water interactions and groundwater quantity and quality. A primary focus of the position will be to use groundwater modeling, scripting/programming, parameter estimation, GIS, and visualization software to develop and apply groundwater flow models for water resources evaluations. Responsibilities also include aiding in project design, collecting and interpreting geologic and hydrogeologic data, and writing reports.
The successful candidate will join a vibrant group of geoscientists committed to providing high-quality data and interpretations to support the orderly and responsible development of Montana's natural resources. Our Rides and Horses

Our rides range from 1-8 hours in length and cater to first-time riders. All of our rides are conducted strictly at the walk. Terrain varies from relatively-flat dirt to steep, rocky switchbacks up a mountain.
Please note that we are a "nose-to-tail" trail ride operation. We do not start young horses or do any arena or ranch work.
