As ASAS-LA Program Ambassador for the past five years, Kobe Bryant has provided tremendous support and life changing experiences to All-Star students. The organization is part of the national After-School All-Stars, which provides after school programs in 14 regions, serving over 92,000 students. POSITIONS NEEDED: - MATH TUTORS: knowledgeable from basic math up to Algebra 1 and experience tutoring Algebra a PLUS! - ENGLISH TUTORS: able to assist with reading and writing as well as study skills. - SCIENCE TUTORS: knowledgeable in biology and physics, able to provide hands-on concepts for students to grasp - HOMEWORK HELPERS: knowledgeable in all areas and can assist students in any subject grades 6-8 SCHOOL LOCATIONS: - CROWN PREPARATORY ACADEMY: Los Angeles, CA 90018 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: -Instruct and manage 20 students within a classroom setting (by yourself). - Provide homework/academic assistance and curriculum instruction. - Support the vision and goals of the organization. -Work cooperatively with site team in creating a safe, fun and supportive environment for students served in after school program. -Participate in on-going trainings, workshops and professional development opportunities Qualifications - High School Diploma - College Coursework (60 units or above) PREFERRED - Excellent interaction skills with children, including classroom and behavior management. - Flexibility and ability to "think on your feet". - Highly energetic and active, as well as creative and resourceful. - Available to work some evenings and weekends. - Bilingual (Spanish) a plus! Additional Information HOURS: - 15-20 hours per week - Work hours are typically 2:30pm-6pm but can vary depending on the needs of the site.
