**What role you will play in our team**
We are seeking Senior Process Control Application Engineers to join us in roles within our North American manufacturing locations, specifically in Beaumont TX.
Our Application Engineers are responsible for developing and supporting basic and advanced process control applications that enhance plant process safety, operability, and profitability. You will participate In and sometimes lead multi-functional teams tasked with unit troubleshooting, debottlenecking, and optimization, or project development and execution. In this role, you will also serve as a senior process control resource, providing technical expertise and mentoring across business teams.

Job Description
The Customer Reliability Engineer works on-site at a customer facility, participating in activities with the customer to comply with the partnership agreement. The Engineer makes independent seal and equipment evaluations, selections and recommends with oversight from the account manager and/or regional engineer. Also, they may lead one or more customer reliability personnel at a customer facility.
Reviews customer applications proactively and makes specific recommendations for MTBR improvement with over site from the salesman and/or the regional engineer. Analyzes and evaluates specific customer applications. Then submits to salesman and/or regional engineer recommendations for improvement via the John Crane Application Data Information Sheet for approval. Directs the installation and commissioning of mechanical seals and their auxiliary support systems.
Observes, collects, and evaluates customer data while working with the account manager and/or regional engineer. Then reports seal program's results utilizing John Crane's current reliability management software, e.g. ServiceMax.
Maintains John Crane's equipment survey. Communicates orally and in writing with customers, company personnel, and vendors while providing counseling, recommendations, and technical assistance. May include making technical presentations to customers or management with over site from the account manager or the regional engineer.
Provides customer training for maintenance and operations personnel as required. Assists customer with the Management of Change process. Collects new equipment data sheets from customer's project engineers for review by the account manager and/or regional engineer.
The candidate must be willing and able to travel as needed to support assignments.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
Experience with mechanical seals, rotating equipment and basic engineering principles applied to perform work assignments in addition to PC and software knowledge.
Previous participation in continuous improvement activities including but not limited to Kaizen, SMED, and Lean activities or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of personal computers, MS Office, and machining practices.

The Application Engineer sees it all-design, manufacturing, installation and operation of our pumps and seals at our customers' sites in the oil and chemical industries. In this challenging position the Application Engineer (AE) provides real-time technical support to our South TX and LA customers, and provides recommendations for repairs, upgrades, and replacement equipment. Responsibilities:
Communicate the needs of customers to Flowserve and be the customers' primary source of information regarding design, application, installation, operation, and maintenance of our centrifugal and liquid ring vacuum pumps, and mechanical seals.
Act as liaison between customers and Flowserve's sales engineers, reliability engineers, customer service, and manufacturing.
Troubleshoot technical problems at our customers' sites and in-house at our Flowserve Quick Response Repair Center.
Complete projects requiring both hands-on and mathematical approaches such as failure analysis reports, product performance reports, etc.
Evaluate reports and data to support recommendations for improvement, replacement, or repair of equipment.
Present clear verbal and written technical explanations to customers, tailoring content, and style to the audience.
Implement and administer the mechanical seal standardization and customer specification process.
Help organize and ensure monthly “Bad Actor” meetings to maintain visibility on equipment performance.
Provide technical guidance about successful installation and operation of our products, ensuring that standardized installation procedures are followed.
Maintain data regarding customers' equipment and parts inventories, responding with appropriate actions regarding inventory reduction and consolidation.
Maintain data in engineering systems; process engineering change notices; submit corrective action reports; and maintain current, accurate, organized files.
Help conduct technical training as needed for our customers.
Requirements:
BS Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree required.
Must have a strong customer focus and project a positive corporate image.
Must be a team player, able to problem-solve and work with constructively with customers and co-workers.
Good organizational skills, able to establish priorities and work to specific deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Computer literate and savvy.
Local travel using personal vehicle, and some overnight travel required.
