Summary: The Industrial Engineer will be focused in the assembly of our electrical panels and driving the efficiency of both physical and human assets to improve operational costs. This position is expected to work closely across functional departments in support of NPD, material evaluations, product quality improvements, or other initiatives. In addition, this position will work alongside senior management in terms of strategic capacity planning, including new facilities and will actively lead or co-lead key projects in this area. This position will also partner and support Lean Manufacturing deployment across Shoals and will become a Subject Matter Expert and participate in Train the Trainer workshops and deployment across the enterprise. Part of a dynamic group, working on solving technical challenges while having access to experienced engineers for advice and mentoring, while also working with junior engineers and co-op students. The position requires frequent interaction with many Shoals departments as well as suppliers and contractors. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement process for assembly of BESS cabinets to optimize both human and technical assets. Collaborate with Plant Management, Maintenance, HSE, and Quality to solve production and safety problems. Monitor production trends and implement continuous improvements. Perform time studies to collect cycle times on plant machinery, personnel, and workstations. Use production forecast to analyze and predict labor/machinery needs. Use lean manufacturing principles to help improve plant floor layouts and increase overall efficiency. Assist in the layout, process design, and implementation of a new 638,000 square foot manufacturing facility. Develop and implement manufacturing processes for new products. Research and implement new technology to help achieve maximum quality and efficiency. Work in a hands-on manufacturing environment with cross functional teams. Develop work instructions and provide training on the manufacturing process. Design, develop, and deploy machinery and other equipment intended to execute and improve processes. Support the Maintenance team with development of CMMS systems and PM planning Duties will require some travel. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial engineering or a related field. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, and other relevant software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and project management abilities. Relevant certifications such as PMP, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing are a plus. Ability to handle multiple tasks while being thorough and detail oriented. We are looking to fill a full time Quality Engineer position with a manufacturer located in the Bowling Green / Franklin, KY area. Salary Range: $70k to $80k per year. No relocation assistance is available. Overview The Process Engineer applies engineering knowledge, statistics, and ingenuity to designs, integrates, and improves manufacturing process systems including mixing, blending, extruding, fermentation, heat treatment, ingredient handling, baking, CIP, and packaging. Responsibilities * Specifies methods, process steps, and equipment required to execute a new or improve an existing manufacturing process in our bakery network. * Designs the feasibility testing approaches and oversees the execution that supports the development and validation of new processes specifically related to grain and dough processing. * Troubleshoots the root causes of common-cause and special cause variance. * Recommends changes in designs or methods using statistical analysis. * Partners internally with cross-functional teams, manufacturing personnel, R&D personnel, and externally with suppliers to identify and develop solutions to manufacturing problems. Benchmarks internally and externally. * Leads the development of design requirements by understanding product formulation, equipment design standards, customer requirements, and performance standards. Make recommendations for engineering standards and specifications. * Often supports Capital Project Managers in the identification and selection of equipment solutions. Leads alternative analysis comparisons between those potential solutions. * Works with the project teams to develop commissioning and qualification execution strategies with a focus on defining intended use and measuring process capability against critical quality acceptance #TMZ23 Qualifications Qualifications: * BS degree in engineering or a technical field is required, preferably in mechanical, chemical or food science engineering. * Minimum of 5 years of prior experience in process design or manufacturing engineering with bakery industry experience. * Experience reading and creating P&IDs and using Microsoft Office software is required. * Understanding of automation systems and controls integration is required. * CPG, nutritional, or food processing experience, and bakery experience is preferred. * Experience with continuous improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma - Green belt or Black belt is preferred Technical Skills: * Engineering Technology: Works without supervision to provide technical guidance regarding new and advanced engineering technologies and specifications. * Engineering Design: Able to leverage the appropriate methods, tools, processes and software for Engineering Design, including but not limited to computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and process simulation. * Engineering Technical Operations Support: Provides technical guidance when identifying and diagnosing operational problems and developing solutions to resolve issues. * Compliance: Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to act independently to achieve full compliance with applicable rules and regulations. Description Fluidra is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Portland, TN. WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes and supports the engineering function by analyzing designs for manufacturing and assembly. Performs cost estimating, prepares bill of materials and plans and justifies capital equipment. Will also test and evaluate existing products for design and manufacturing improvements. Additionally, you will: Develops conceptual and detailed tool and equipment designs to meet product specifications. Investigates design factors such as function, materials, performance, and cost. Prepares project plans to ensure projects meet cost and schedule goals. Reviews product designs using analytical and investigative methods to ensure product requirements and specifications are met. Prepares quoting documentation (CAD drawings and cost quotes) for various production lines. Documents manufacturing processes. Creates and manages manufacturing work instructions. Creates 3D models and related 2D CAD drawings for engineering and manufacturing. Reviews and corrects drawings to ensure clarity, completeness, and conformity to standards and procedures. Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. Analyzes and plans workspace requirements and workflow, designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Confers with suppliers to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. Designs and performs product testing and analysis as needed. Performs quality assurance functions as needed to ensure high levels of quality in manufacturing. Reviews, writes, and edits reports, assembly and user instructions, including evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, etc. and provide recommendations conclusions, to engineering staff and customers. Utilize ERP system to create/maintain part numbers and bills of materials. Performs other duties as assigned. WHAT WE SEEK 5+ years of engineering work experience. Experience on value improvement of consumer products. Proficient in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), E-mail, and ERP systems. Proficient mechanical design skills using CAD software (SolidWorks and AutoDesk) 3D design capability is a must. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Good verbal and written communication skills. Proven track record of accomplished projects with increasing responsibilities and results demonstrated.
