Kemira is looking for an experienced Process Engineer in our Marietta, Georgia, production facility. We are looking for someone to work in the plant on process and project engineering activities. This will include process improvements and modifications, new project development and implementation, preparing capital projects, and troubleshooting existing process problems. This person will also assist with process safety and management of change for the site. This position reports to the Plant Manager.
In this role you will be responsible for:
* Improving chemical production and utility processes.
* Collaborating with production staff to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
* Coordinating process safety activities, including:
* Management of Change
* Process hazard analysis
* Pre-start up reviews
* Root Cause Analysis and corrective actions for process incidents.
* Managing plant-wide improvement idea system.
* Training personnel on new / changed processes.
* Regulatory reporting and environmental protection activities.

* Developing and updating operating procedures, P&IDs, engineering records.

* Chemical engineering degree
* 4+ years of experience with chemical manufacturing, involving batch reactions and PSM processes.

Process engineer job in Cartersville, GA
This is a full time, onsite position based in our Cartersville, GA office. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, hours may occasionally vary depending on business needs and workload
The Process Engineer position is responsible for determining operations to produce products while developing processes to ensure the quality, cost and efficiency requirements are met. This position works with our production team to identify, troubleshoot problems and takes action to correct and purpose improvement to existing processes. The Process Engineer also researches the purchase of equipment or upgrades to existing equipment. This role will be additionally linked directly to the execution of our Masterplan at our Cartersville, Georgia site with responsibility focused on the process engineering of the expansion. The person hired will also be expected to provide support to the current infrastructure in some instances.
Your Responsibilities
• Evaluate, implement and monitor processes and operating systems for the manufacture of food and beverage ingredients.
• Create/edit/maintain necessary documentation.
• Work with maintenance to optimize process equipment for efficiency, provide preventive maintenance Guidelines.
• Support the conversion of small-scale processes into commercially viable large-scale operations either through upgrading existing equipment or through newer capital projects.
• Monitor and improve the efficiency, output and safety of manufacturing processes through observations and measurements as well as by collecting and interpreting data from other technical and operating personnel.
• Assume responsibility for safety/environmental issues and ongoing performance of processes.
• Participate in investment and modernization projects, providing process expertise to ensure successful implementation and alignment with operational goals.

Your Profile:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
• 2 years in process engineering role
