Job Description:
The Corporate Device Modeling and Technology Characterization Group within Microchip has a position for a Technical Staff Device Modeling and Measurement Engineer to join our team to help support the development of compact device models and characterize new technologies.
This individual will perform characterization of electrical devices and develop models to closely replicate their behavior, for use in circuit design simulations. Leveraging the utilization of technologies through a resourceful understanding of device behaviors, to improve analog precision, reduce power consumption and reduce physical circuit size. This individual will work with circuit design engineers to solve simulation problems.
This person will have opportunities to create their own test structures, mentor junior engineers, create and support code generation for measurement, document procedures and support troubleshooting throughout the device modeling process.

Specific Position Duties:
Identify and troubleshoot process, material or equipment problems to minimize down time and recommend solutions to Manufacturing Engineering.
Develop, assemble, procure or modify existing and new tooling, fixtures and equipment to ensure efficient production methods.
Process customer drawing Engineering Change Notices and initiate/process internal CEPA ECOs accordingly.
Complete time studies to quantify processing times and identify areas for process improvements.
Assist with hands on training of manufacturing employees on new products, tooling equipment and process revisions.
Assist in failure analysis. Troubleshooting, rework/repair of nonconforming product to determine root cause.
Promote and support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement activities in Manufacturing.
Identify and document Visual Assembly Instructions to help standardize Manufacturing processes for future product builds.
Create internal Bill of Materials, Labor Plans and Marking Documents according to customer documentation.
Perform Document Control duties in maintaining internal CEPA and customer documentation.
Interpret customer drawing requirements/criteria and providing direction/clarification to Manufacturing Technicians, Leads and Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
5 years of experience in manufacturing with increasing roles in technical support.
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, and Excel
Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across the department
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated T&D Standards Engineer (Civil) II/III to support the safe, reliable, and efficient construction, operation, and maintenance of our Transmission & Distribution (T&D) systems. In this role, you will apply your civil engineering expertise to moderate-scale engineering and construction projects, contributing to the development and enhancement of T&D standards and practices.
Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining construction standards and material specifications, conducting engineering analyses, evaluating materials and failed components, and supporting internal design and construction teams. You'll play an active role in identifying improvement opportunities across T&D design and construction processes, and will have increasing responsibility for technical decisions, guidance, and customer engagement.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and proactive in staying informed on industry trends and emerging technologies. Occasional after-hours support may be required.
Minimum Requirements
Engineer II
* A four-year Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline or related applied science discipline (see approved list) from an ABET accredited institution, an International Engineering Alliance (IEA) recognized institution or an ABET Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) plus two (2) years working experience in Engineering-related positions.
Engineer III
* A four-year Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline or related applied science discipline (see approved list) from an ABET accredited institution, an International Engineering Alliance (IEA) recognized institution or an ABET Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) plus five (5) years working experience in Engineering-related positions.
Approved Engineering degrees:
* Materials Science/Metallurgy, Physics, Chemistry, Nuclear, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics, Computer Science, Environmental, Chemical, Structural.
(A four-year bachelor of Engineering Technology degree is not considered an automatic equivalent for a B.S. degree in Engineering. A review of the degree program curriculum must be completed by Engineering department management.)
Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:
* Civil/Structural Engineering Degree.

Major Accountabilities
1) Analyzes and prepares a variety of data, technical reviews and evaluations, trend analyses, short to long-range technology assessments, products and services, investigations, product/specification verifications to aid decision making. 2) Identifies, communicates and advocates resolution of technical concerns while adhering to sound engineering principles during evaluation / resolution of the conditions. Challenges conditions and decisions when needed to ensure T&D Standards, engineering designs, project controls and oversight of work has high technical quality, is cost effective, in compliance with established standards, codes and regulations, maintains future reliability, satisfies customer requirements, budget and schedules to meet or exceed all reasonable or agreed upon customer service levels.
3) Interfaces with customers or cross organizational team members to assess their needs, determine the scope of the project, obtain necessary data to make key decisions which may require consultation with external or internal customers or employees.
4) May provide oversight of engineering technical programs by managing the program requirements, working with cross organizational partners, reviewing and internalizing operating experience and coordinating corrective actions to ensure engineering program elements continue to meet T&D standards.
5) Provides support for projects and modifications that will increase operating efficiency. May review design and documentation of projects to ensure compliance with design specifications, schedules and any regulatory requirements.
6) Plans, coordinates, sets priorities, and applies resources on moderate projects or processes.
7) Takes initiative to eliminate barriers and uses resources to ensure desired results.
8) Checks and reviews standard analysis, evaluations, and investigations of others.
9) Provides technical guidance and leadership to less experienced engineers.
10) Remains cognizant of current technology and engineering developments as well as industry and competitive developments.
11) Maintains high individual level of engineering technical capabilities and expertise by formal education, self-study, and awareness of technology advances.

Position Summary
The Process Quality Engineer ensures on-going product quality through continuous process and product monitoring, statistical analysis, and continual quality improvement initiatives.
The Process Quality Engineer is primarily responsible for the development and implementation of methods and procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection to ensure that the products continue to meet design and product specifications. This role also performs statistical analysis to maintain quality levels and minimize defects and failure rates, including on-going review of Quality Control testing for material release and resulting data to determine trends and recommend corrective actions. The Process Quality Engineer coordinates activities of the Material Review Board (MRB) and ensures appropriate material dispositions. The role collaborates as necessary, with operational stakeholders on quality problems, ensures that effective corrective actions are implemented and contributes to Operations Quality improvement programs.
Job Responsibilities
Work closely with operations and the business functions to ensure quality performance of product and processes.
Collaborates with Divisional QA, cross-functional groups, and supplier teams to address quality issues.
Support implementation and/or verification of material and/or equipment specifications.
Reviews incoming inventory material receiving records, and quality control testing documentation to release the materials for production use
Accountable for Material and Product releases through review and release of kit manufacturing and batch manufacturing records
Support execution of PFMEA, DFMEA and SOP generation associated with design transfers and product launch
Support execution and analysis of manufacturing related complaints and product field actions.
Execute internal quality deliverables associated with operational changes, manufacturing transfers and supplier-initiated changes.
Participates and may lead change control management; creation and/or review of new or modified procedures.
Maintain KPIs for monitoring of process and/or product quality, perform analysis, and interpret trends, identifying and activating appropriate actions as necessary.
Own or support identified internal NCs, Deviations, Quality events, CAPAs, and manage to timely root cause investigation, implementation and closure.
Work to introduce and implement Six sigma, process improvement, statistical and problem-solving tools and methodologies
Support the development and review of production processes and for feedback through Measurement System Analysis (MSA) using DMAIC and tools.
Applies statistical methods of analysis and process control to current operations.
Develop understanding of risk management practices and concepts and applies knowledge to manufacturing operations.
Responsible for initiation, internal containment, communication, and support of Commercial Holds for potential product escapes.
Ensure adherence to GMP and safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
