What You Can Expect Working in the Manufacturing Intern Position
RedGuard is currently seeking a Manufacturing Intern. This position will work closely with the Production Manager and Floor Supervisors providing support to the Manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented and will have a strong interest in manufacturing, construction, and/or project management.
Responsibilities
Performs time studies to assess the duration and efficiency of various production tasks.
Tracks and records downtime across departments, identifying causes and frequency for root cause analysis (RC/CA).
Reviews existing work instructions for accuracy and updates; creates new documentation as needed.
Assists in tracking and communicating daily and weekly performance metrics.
Reviews and edits all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other shop floor standard work documentation.
Supports lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Project.
Works well with others in a team environment.

Work daily in the PLM system (SmarTeam/3DX) workflows to realize New Product Introduction, ECR/s/Part Number Rolls and VAEP projects. Must have a strong working knowledge of the workflow process to support product realization and amend/revise workflows as required to streamline product realization.
Proficient knowledge of and be able to operate the software and equipment used in the department. Software includes but is not limited to Microsoft products, CATIA, SmarTeam and Syteline.
Supports internal groups, customers, and vendors on a daily basis for all engineering/product definition related needs that arise. Must be able to effectively and professionally communicate with these groups.
Coordinates activities with technical team members to make corrections or improvements to planning, tooling, or processes.
