Project Cost Estimation
Knowledge and familiarity with related fields of work such as electrical, mechanical, structural, environmental, civil engineering, filling & packaging, and chemical industry to sufficiently create either high-level budgetary estimates or specific line-item estimates.
Expert Level knowledge in at least two of the abovementioned fields or high-level experience in 4 areas.
Ability to create detailed line-item (Class 3 to Class 4) cost estimates, reviews work orders, programming documents, design documents, or similar project documentation.
Highly Proficient in use of cost estimating software. RS Means and ProEst shall be the preferred software, while Procore and others shall be considered.

The Project Fan Engineer is highly skilled in project management, mechanical engineering, and design. The position interfaces with architects, engineers, consultants, customers, and manufacturing on the design and redesign of new and existing air moving equipment utilized in the chemical, petrochemical, power, waste-water treatment plants, or other heavy process industries. The Project Fan Engineer has extensive fan knowledge and is the resident expert, ensuring the integrity of all engineering design.
Responsibilities:
Prepare layouts and manufacturing detailed drawings using SolidWorks, (weldment cut list drawings, bill of material drawings and exploded views) and on occasion AutoCAD.
Prepare customer general arrangement drawings and ensure timely submittals.
Review returned approval drawings. Implement necessary changes and resubmit or release jobs to the fan plant for fabrication.

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a strong focus on HVAC engineering and design. The ideal candidate will support projects involving but not limited to building HVAC systems, process ventilation, clean rooms, hazardous (classified) location pressurization etc. Experience with Dust Control, Plumbing and/or Fire Protection systems is highly desirable but not required. This role involves developing design drawings, equipment specifications, working closely with other engineering disciplines, interacting directly with clients and performing field design work.
Education/Experience
Minimum of five years of experience in HVAC engineering and design; Industrial HVAC experience is strongly preferred (i.e. chemical plant, manufacturing, warehouse, etc).
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
Experience in dust collection, plumbing or fire protection is a plus.
Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Assume overall responsibility for HVAC work on assigned projects.
Develop HVAC system designs for industrial and chemical plants and related office facilities.

Perform heating and cooling load calculations. Select and size HVAC equipment.
Evaluate existing building ventilation and recommend system improvements.

Develop HVAC cost estimates for different project stage gates (front-end loading).
Perform field work by obtaining information, making field sketches and verifying drawings.
Dust Control Engineering & Designer (a strong plus if already experienced):
Design dust collection systems tailored for specific process application including but not limited to nuisance dust and combustible dust.
Prepare equipment specifications and develop duct layouts.
Plumbing (Experience not required, but beneficial):
Design and develop layouts for potable water distribution systems, sanitary wastewater systems, stormwater drain piping systems and process sewer systems.
Prepare equipment specifications for tempered water heating systems, safety shower and eyewash stations.
Fire Protection (Experience not required, but beneficial):
Evaluate hazards and determine the required fire protection coverage and density.
Develop a coverage plan for the fire protection contractor.

PURPOSE OF POSITION
Responsible for the formulation, administration and coordination of the manufacturing policies and practices designed to improve operating performance, reduce waste and delays, improve quality, and otherwise promote cost improvement and process control for all of manufacturing.
GENERAL FUNCTIONS AND SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
General function is to provide manufacturing process support to production and actively participate in the development process of new products.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Plans and coordinates projects of major scope and importance
2. Provide manufacturing cost savings suggestions and implementation
3. Actively participate in the NPI process in a concurrent engineering role
4. Responsible for the technical implementation of lean manufacturing within your responsible areas
5. Capital equipment justifications for performance and product improvement
6. Responsible for definition of safe manufacturing practices within your responsible areas
7. Other duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Formal training in Electronics or Electro-Mechanical technology or equivalent experience. Assembly expertise (electronics/mechanical), teaming skills, disciplines of problem solving, documentation background (prints, instructions, etc.), lean manufacturing techniques, quick changeovers (SMED), and process characterization and optimization.

Operate a computer and keyboard; able to use a phone; sit for long periods; communicate using speech, hearing, and vision skills.

Requirements
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably materials science, industrial engineering, electrical engineering or mechanical engineering. Work experience in an industrial setting preferred.
• In depth knowledge of glass cutting and tempering processes preferred.
• Must be comfortable interacting with employees on the plant floor, training based on work instructions you develop and supporting operations through hands on actions rather than just giving advice.
• Fundamental knowledge of manufacturing practices and procedures to effectively resolve workflow issues.
• Strong planning, organization, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to gather, analyze and interpret information and develop, recommend and implement solutions.
• Must have ability to work independently with little supervision and as a contributing member of a team.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and Visio.
• Experience with AutoCAD/SolidWorks is strongly preferred.
