This is a fully on-site role based in Austin, Texas; some assistance may be available for successful candidates relocating within the United States. You will need to be an expert in Robotics design to apply for this vacancy - 3 years+. Role Description: As a Robotics Design Engineer, you will own mechanical systems as well as their integration into larger assemblies - many of which are subject to high-temperature, corrosive, and/or water-heavy environments; and some of which are inherently electro-mechanical systems. You will be seeing projects through the full product lifecycle, and will be heavily involved with each step. You will build, design, engineer, lead, and test. You'll take systems from concept to production and see them deployed in the field. You'll work closely with the team, own your work end-to-end, and make real decisions that shape the product. They expect you to take initiative, speak up, and care about the details. You'll have a lot of autonomy, and with that, the responsibility to make high-impact decisions. They are looking for engineers who want to own what they build and why they're building it. Responsible for reporting any problems/malfunctions found while demonstrating the ability to analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions and take corrective action as required to schedule the maintenance. Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Responsible for overseeing the activities of contractors working within the building either as representatives of the building itself or clients operating within the buildings. Responsible for keeping records of buildings rounds and readings, all engineering logs and engineering data sheets. Responsible for informing contractors so that they are informed and knowledgeable with respects to the building's critical functions and the work they are to perform, including an incident contact response list. Responsible for understanding and complying with emergency escalation procedures. This position requires frequent walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, stooping, and working/extending overhead, including: Lifting a minimum of 80 lbs. Using ladders up to 30 ft and working from heights. Climbing a ladder with a 300-lb weight limit while carrying a tool bag weighing approximately 20 lbs. Required Skills and Experience: High School diploma/GED required; military service, union training, vocational or college education is preferred.
