This position reports directly to the Superintendent, Dry Yeast Department. May also receive work direction or assignments from Drying Department Manager. This position will be responsible for ensuring the product is packaged correctly within quality and weight specifications.
This is an 10-hour shift job with some overtime required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Packaging:
Operate the packaging equipment (conveyors, dry yeast filler, case sealers, vacuum sealers, inkjet printer, labeler, vacuum lifter) in accordance with SOPs and training.
Ensure that each box that is packaged : with the proper packaging material, free of any foreign material, is within the weight range, clean and presentable, and is stacked properly on the pallet.
Responsible for adjusting weights on the touchscreen interface if box weights go out of range.
Assist in loading products onto trucks when necessary.
Ensure that the packaging equipment are functioning effective at all time.
Take product and in-process samples in proscribed manner and frequency.
Perform basic laboratory analysis in accordance to the SOP's and plan of control.
Follow proper procedures in packaging processes and complete them as scheduled.
Follow established yeast packaging procedures, and make adjustments on the equipment, manually or through a central processing computer.
Notify Superintendent of equipment failures and when major packaging problems or variations in the process are detected.
Follow production schedule and notify the Superintendent of production schedule drift.
Participate in the equipment cleaning operations in accordance with the plan of cleaning.
Follow established cleaning procedures
Follow plant maintenance procedures as needed.
Responsible for critical control point monitoring in accordance with the plan of control.
Learn and comply with all established safety rules and food safety rules of the Plant as well as general company policies.
Responsible for reading and understanding material safety data for chemicals used in packaging and drying process.
Maintain control sheet for packaging parameters/procedures and equipment, simple calculations and computer controls.
Enter information on packaging control sheet for packaging operation.
Keep the packaging room and control room clean.
Verify accuracy of all information.
Communicate effectively with Superintendent, Dry Yeast Department Manager in plant operations and adherence to, the weekly production schedule.
Communicate effectively with the employees of the Dry yeast department (dryer operators, filter press operator, drying support operator, relief operator, packaging lead operator and operators).
Coordinate daily with the general service for packaging material supply.
Notify maintenance department of equipment problems that cannot be solved independently by written work order requests.
Coordinate daily with maintenance department for equipment PMs, repairs, and equipments availability.
Coordinate with laboratory when tests are needed; deliver samples for testing.
Use a computer for E-mail, Excel spreadsheets and procedures in the Dry Yeast Department.
Input Oracle information as required.
Maintain daily inventory for daily packaging production and cleaning needs with General Services.
Participate in Dry Yeast Department continuous improvement team.
Special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS
Operate and monitor area equipment throughout the mills and yard to ensure to include but not limited to: hang-ups with lumber or equipment, position of lumber when reaching next machine center
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Set-up, operate and maintain machine centers in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
* Clear lumber/equipment hang-ups
* Ensure lumber is in proper position before arriving at next machine center
* Clean and align optimizers and change saws and guides as needed
* Clean workstation and surrounding area making sure it is clean and free of debris
* Lubricate components as necessary
* Control machine center input and output, lumber flow and speed
* Complete production tallies, downtime tallies and daily reports as required

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma required. 3 years of experience in a food grade production facility preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports and correspondence if needed. Ability to speak effectively before employees of organization or Auditors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
REASONING ABILITY

Production Line Tech's are tasked to produce all products that Proud Source Water Inc has developed and approved. Line Tech's are to produce all products according to spec and follow all polices & procedures while doing so.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Depalletizer:
Loading the depalletizer or notifying forklift operator when a new pallet is needing to be loaded.
Dispersing the bottles onto the conveyor
Stacking slip sheets
Keeping conveyor fully loaded at all times
Rinse Cage:
Monitoring the rinse cage to ensure proper cleansing/rinsing of the bottles is occurring
Monitoring the rinse cage for consistent bottle back pressure to prevent bottle drops through rails
Inline Filler:
Monitoring the filler to ensure bottle alignment & back pressure are adequate.
Monitoring sensors
Monitoring fill levels via Filler/Capper Operator line check
Capper:
Monitoring device for alarms
Monitoring torque levels via Filler/Capper Operator line check
Ensuring correct caps are in use
Monitoring for line backups, crushed & stuck bottles.
Case Erector:
Monitoring machine to ensure consistent production is capable
Loading and monitoring tray levels
Monitoring for back ups, tipped, stuck, crushed bottles.
Monitoring folding & gluing of trays and flaps to ensure there is no glue leakage or ripped trays.
Poly Pack Case Wrapper:
Monitoring the machine to ensure consistent production
Monitoring shrink wrap usage and placement on the cases
Loading new rolls of shrink wrap
Monitoring for alarms and backups to prevent case crashes and crushed bottles.
Pallet Stackers:
Transferring finished cases from the conveyor to a pallet and stacking in the correct configuration.
Monitoring cases for unacceptable bottles, trays and case wrapping
Starting & Stopping Pallets via scanned QR codes in the WMS
Logging inventory lot numbers as needed
Lantech:
Applying corner guards to finished pallets
Stretch wrapping finished pallets
Monitoring lantech settings to ensure proper wrapping (load and height)
Labeling wrapped pallet with correct date
Labeling each pallet with fragile stickers
Ensuring the correct QR code is placed with the finished pallet before being transferred to the floor.
Machine Operator

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Selects, positions, and aligns angle degrees in machine ram and bed. Turns setscrews or bolts to fasten clamp bar that holds guides in position.
Turns adjustment screws to set specified pressure of ram and clearance between cutting path of saw. Lays out or details layout on work stock from blueprints or templates.
Positions work piece to align layout marks of desired cut. Starts saw to cut desired angle of material.
Sets stops on saw and repositions stock to run successive pieces, or to perform multiple operations. Keeps a running inventory of assigned material.
Verifies dimensions of work piece. Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
