Responsibilities and duties at this level typically involve non-routine problems and solutions requiring a greater depth and breadth of technical knowledge. Duties will Include: Qualify on both outside and inside operations. Startup and shutdown of process equipment. Correctly and safely permitting maintenance work. Use established procedures and assist in modifying procedures as required. Monitoring and adjusting equipment and plant process operating parameters. Correctly performing valve line-ups, preparing equipment for maintenance work including lock-out tag-out. Monitor and maintain proper water chemistry onsite.     Job Description**If you have tested in the last 6 months and passed you are not required to apply again. If you tested in the last 6 months and failed, you must wait 6 months from your test date to reapply. The Packaging Operator reports directly to the Process Supervisor and is responsible for the operation of the discharge end of all dryers, balers, metal detectors, and film wrappers, including all associated conveyors and related equipment in the packaging and baler areas of process. Job Functions: Perform all tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner and complete all necessary housekeeping tasks to ensure work areas are kept in the best possible condition at all times. Ensure the continuous operation of all scheduled process lines according to the Standard Operating Procedures and at the direction of the Process Supervisor. This position must be able to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems in the baler and packaging areas in an effort to maintain the continuous production of product and minimize downtime. An electronic log has been developed to assist in prompting the operator to perform certain job duties and inspections. It is the responsibility of the Packaging Operator to ensure these duties and inspections are performed and noted on the electronic log. This position is also responsible for weighing out all finished product and ensuring the accuracy of this information in the production report. This position requires incumbent to be computer literate and be able to read, record and interpret information from the computer databases. In most instances, this position is the final inspection point prior to customer shipment. This position must ensure the accuracy of all packaging types and customer labeling and recognize potential problems to avoid customer dissatisfaction and complaints.
