f. Monitor scrap levels and remove scrap plastic from machines and transport to designated areas

ProductionOperator/Operations Technician will carry out the activities involved in the manufacture of specialty chemicals. Employee must follow ISO and PSM procedures in all phases of productionoperations. Performs SAP functions in data entry and also performs laboratory analyses, as needed. Knowledge of IMDG and 49 CFR dangerous goods certification for shipment of materials. Follows established quality standards, Company safety standards and EHS policies at all times.
Responsibilities:
Load and unload tank wagons and rail cars, both raw materials and finished products
Perform blending operations in storage tanks
Operation of facility's reactors for batch operations
Transfer materials between vessels
Perform blending operations in storage tanks
Automatic and manual charging, sampling and controlling reaction and process vessels.
Transferring raw materials from rail cars and tank trucks to storage tanks, unloading finished products to tote bins or drums as directed.
Handling hazardous materials safely.
Recording process data on batch logs, batch records and inventory control records.
Adhere to approved work instructions.
Maintain housekeeping and safe work conditions.
General plant maintenance.
Accepts responsibility for his or her own safety and health. Performs assigned duties in a manner that is safe and protective of the environment. Follows operating procedures to ensure a safe and environmentally protective workplace. Observes and reports all incidents and unsafe conditions. Takes an active interest in improving safety and environmental protection.
Must work well within a team, have good common sense, and have a good attention to detail.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Demonstrated ability to handle raw materials and finished products in a safe manner.
Must be willing to wear a full-face respirator or SCBA
Available to work 12-hour shifts (fixed days or nights), weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
Operator forklift truck and be capable of passing certification testing.
Demonstrate basic math skills and knowledge of computers.
Physically able to work under SCBA and full PPE and must be physically capable to handle bags and drums of materials

Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Machine Operator will be responsible for the set-up, operation, and maintenance of various production equipment, that could include tablet presses, encapsulation machines, soft-gel processing equipment, granulation equipment, and other raw material processing machinery. The operator will ensure accurate production, while following established processes and adhering to safety, quality, and manufacturing standards. The role includes troubleshooting, performing quality control checks, maintaining documentation, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment.

This individual will be in charge of setting up the machine, operating the machine, and tend machines to cut, punch, crimp, notch, bend, material according to desired specification for Jamco Products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Read work orders and production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting/folding lines, and dimensions and tolerances.
Position guides, stops, holding blocks, or other fixtures to secure and direct work pieces, using hand tools and measuring devices.
Start machines, choose correct program for desired part, monitor their operations, and record operational data.
Position, align, and secure work pieces against fixtures or stops on machine beds or on dies.
Measure completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers.
Examine completed work pieces for defects such as chipped edges and marred surfaces, sort defective pieces according to types of flaws and record it properly.
Performs Routine Maintenance including cleaning and lubricating machines.
Grind out burrs and sharp edges, using portable grinders.
Uses forklifts and cranes to move parts as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION /EXPERIENCE
GED or High School Diploma.
Background in manufacturing/metal fabrication.
Power tool experience.
Must be able to work 10-hour days
CNC Operating experience a plus
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
