Electronics Coating Operator:
• Location - Rapid City, SD
• Full-Time Position
• Hours - Monday-Friday (7:00am - 3:30pm); voluntary OT is sometimes available
Duties & Responsibilities:
Job Responsibilities:
Handle Specialized Materials: Work with a variety of chemical coatings, adhesives, sealants, and encapsulation compounds used in the production of electronic components.
Microscope-Based Assembly & Cleaning: Utilize a microscope to perform precision tasks, including the installation of electronic components into protective housings and the meticulous cleaning of delicate components to remove specific chemical residues.
Precision Manual Work: Execute repetitive, detail-oriented tasks requiring high levels of manual dexterity. Use small hand tools such as tweezers, micro-screwdrivers, and syringes to manipulate miniature components.
Follow Technical Procedures: Carry out complex technical operations in strict accordance with detailed work instructions and process documentation.
Adhere to Safety Standards: Maintain compliance with all Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protocols and workplace safety regulations.
Utilize Digital Tools: Use a computer to complete the required training modules and access work-related documentation and systems.
Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

Required:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for handling small components and tools
Ability to follow detailed technical instructions and standard operating procedures
Comfortably performing repetitive tasks with consistent accuracy
Basic computer literacy, including the ability to complete digital training modules
Ability to work under a microscope for extended periods
Willingness to comply with strict ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and safety protocols
Manual Dexterity Evaluation:
As part of the hiring process, you will be required to perform a Manual Dexterity Evaluation to evaluate your ability to perform the previously stated Job Responsibilities.
These basic tasks and abilities are:
Installing very small screws using tweezers into the holes of a PCB, as well as the PCB into a housing, and tightening the screws properly by hand using a bit-driver under a microscope, Installing very small screws using tweezers into the holes of a lidded housing and tighten the screws properly using a microscope and bit driver by hand. Cleaning units under the microscope.
Preferred:
Previous experience in electronics manufacturing, cleanroom environments, or similar precision-based industries
Familiarity with handling adhesives, sealants, or chemical compounds in a production setting
Experience using small hand tools such as tweezers, syringes, or micro-screwdrivers
Knowledge of IPC standards or other industry-specific quality standards.
