Job Description
Role: Production Operator
Job Summary: Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for running the production line. This includes operating machinery, ensuring that raw materials are fed properly through the manufacturing process, resolving line stoppages, clearing equipment jams, verifying finished products against quality specifications, and ensuring that products are properly prepared for shipment.

Utilizes the Efficiency Improvement Tools to understand and comment on line downtime and communicates appropriately per the escalation plan.

SUMMARY:

As an Aseptic Production Operator II, your primary responsibility is to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of aseptic manufacturing processes and equipment. Key Responsibilities
* Execute aseptic manufacturing processes in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). This includes preparation, setup, operation, and monitoring of aseptic blowing/ filling, cleaning, and sterilizing the aseptic block equipment. Knowledge about Chemicals used in the Aseptic Block Equipment and their critical interactions (GHS & SDS).
* Overall knowledge about Aseptic Production, such as basic concepts about Microbiology and pH, Low Acid and High Acid Products, and causes of sterility loss.
* Monitor all the Aseptic Block equipment Critical Control Points (CCP), using a Human Machine Interface (HMI), to ensure the final product sterility is maintained. Identify and address potential contamination risks and work with your Supervisor and Quality/ Maintenance Teams to mitigate/ eliminate them.
* Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot Aseptic Block Equipment, such as filling and blow molding machines, sterilizers, and filtration systems. Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls. Be alert to the alarms and act quickly to adjust equipment to prevent unnecessary downtime.
* Perform routine equipment maintenance, which involves cleaning, inspecting, and lubricating (CIL) the Aseptic Block Equipment. These routine activities will be performed under Maintenance Technician supervision to maintain good equipment performance.
* Follow Quality Control Niagara's procedures for in-process checks, sampling, and inspections to ensure product quality and compliance. Perform visual inspections, measurements, and other quality control tests to identify deviations or defects and take appropriate corrective actions. Responsible for testing Torque, Top load, Bottle Section weights, and Cleaning/ Sterilization Chemicals concentrations (ability to perform Titrations)

Understand and perform proficiently all operations associated with the Can Shop Operation, as directed by supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following; other duties may be assigned.
Performs set-up, installs, repairs, tests, calibrate, and operate production line machines in the department as needed. Machine set-ups include but not limited to press brakes, punch presses, power shears, milling machines, lathes, auto-punch, CNC turret punch press, belt sanders, drill presses, spot welders, steel rule dies, sandblasters, pad insertion, riveters, spray painting, epoxy coating, welding, etc.
Responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.
Selects proper welding electrodes and holders, regulates current and time for specific welds to ensure proper penetration and fusion of base and filler welds. Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques per Standard AWS D17.1:2001”Specification for Fusion Welding for Aerospace Applications”.
Sets up machines per verbal and/or written instructions, blueprints, and operation specifications. Tooling is selected to produce parts to specification. Inspection of first piece and adjust equipment and/or tool as required to verify conformance of parts are within proper specification. Submits pieces for inspection by quality assurance.
Examines standards, checks and maintains all dies and tooling on regular schedule and recommends repair and/or design modifications of tooling for function when necessary. Understands preventative maintenance work, including machine inspection, adjustments, and repair of existing machine parts where needed, or replacements as recommended by machine manufacturer.
Prepares parts for spray painting or epoxy powder coating, measuring and mixing paints or epoxy powders to proper shades and glass and various assembly works. Performs visual inspection of all material and parts prior to painting. Operates baking ovens and monitors temperatures and bake cycle.
Maintains flow of production in the department as required by schedule and material supply. Assists in implementing programs to standardize and minimize production changeovers/downtime. Keeps facilities and work area clean and orderly, exercising care in their maintenance.

EQUIPMENT:

EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES:
Minimum of two years of welding experience. Must meet performance procedural qualifications, to include physical requirements, comply with weld processes, and successfully complete weld tests to be certified through the American Welders Society per specifications Standards AWS D17.1:2001 and QC7.
Skill set required include previous education and experience with the ability to competently set up and operate all machines within department, dies and tooling.
Able to train and assist other machine operators within the department.
Use higher math application of engineering principles and specifications.
Proficient in blueprint reading and inspection procedures.
