About the Role
Our client is seeking a Humanoid Robotics Engineer to design, prototype, and validate locomotion, manipulation, and safety systems for a next‑generation humanoid platform. This is a hands‑on, lab‑centric role where you'll own features end‑to‑end-from simulation and controls algorithms to on‑robot bring‑up, testing, and field deployment.
What You'll Do
Develop whole‑body control, gait generation, balance/recovery, and fall‑safe behaviors
Build sensor fusion pipelines and robust state estimation (IMU, LiDAR, encoders, depth/RGB)
Plan and execute dexterous grasping, tool use, and compliant control with tactile feedback
Architect ROS 2‑based stacks, real‑time nodes, and hardware interfaces (CAN/EtherCAT)
Implement safety monitors, fault detection, and contribute to ISO/ANSI compliance standards
Create high‑fidelity simulations (Gazebo, Isaac Sim, MuJoCo) and validate sim‑to‑real transfer
Collaborate on hardware design (actuators, transmissions, sensors) and rapid prototyping
Document designs, test reports, and maintain traceability across revisions
What We're Looking For
BS/MS/PhD in Robotics, EE, ME, CS, or related field
5+ years hands‑on experience in humanoid robot engineering and prototyping
Strong C++ (14/17) and Python; proficiency with ROS 2 and real‑time systems
Expertise in multibody dynamics, control theory (LQR/MPC/impedance), and state estimation (EKF/UKF)
Experience with EtherCAT/CAN devices, motor control, and safety‑rated I/O
Proven on‑robot bring‑up/debugging in lab environments
Preferred: experience in legged locomotion, dexterous manipulation, tactile sensing, GPU acceleration, ML for control/perception, and safety analysis
