DAY IN THE LIFE:

**Overview**
The Electrical Energy Engineer for the Development Team is responsible for independently assessing building electrical systems while performing technical on-site surveys and in-office analysis on assigned projects. Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented ProjectEngineer to support a wide range of civil engineeringprojects. This role is ideal for someone with an EIT certification who is actively pursuing or has recently achieved their Professional Engineer (PE) license. The ideal candidate brings experience in design, permitting, and construction support, and is ready to take on more responsibility in project coordination and client communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the planning, design, and delivery of civil engineeringprojects, including site development, roadway improvements, drainage systems, and utility infrastructure
Prepare design plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates
Perform engineering calculations, site layout, grading, and stormwater modeling
Support project managers with schedules, budgets, permitting, and agency coordination
Conduct site visits and assist with construction observation and documentation
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes
Mentor junior engineers and support staff as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
EIT certification required
PE license preferred or on track to obtain within 12 months
3-6 years of relevant civil engineering experience
Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with local, state, and federal design standards and permitting requirements
Experience working with municipalities, DOTs, or private developers
Knowledge of stormwater modeling software or other civil design tools

The Role We Want You For
As the Procurement Engineer you will be responsible for working with the CDC team in sourcing electrical material, equipment, services, and managing vendors in specific project areas across multiple projects. Carry out market analysis to get the best purchasing deals, ensuring material and services are acquired at favorable prices. Work with Clayco project team, architectural team and technical group to ensure specified products and materials meet specifications and are within company standards. Manage delivery schedules and ensure timely delivery of materials to jobsites.
The Specifics of the Role
Develop and execute electrical procurement strategies while working with others.
Assist in seeking, exploring, and securing new revenue and procurement opportunities.
Assess, manage, and mitigate risks while partnering with reliable vendors and suppliers.
Evaluate EC's bill of material and labor bid for complete and accurate quantities and scope.
Perform product takeoff, estimates, and pricing on current and future projects.
Gather and prepare product submittals.
Prepare product list and quantities for purchase order and change order preparation.
Ensure material orders are placed and tracked to ensure timeliness of delivery.
Create contacts with key outside Clayco partners to provide CDC materials.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred or 5 years electrical experience
5+ years as a sourcing and procurement professional with a minimum of 1-3 years in electrical procurement or a Journeyman Electrician that has fulfilled all requirements of an accredited apprenticeship program
Strong technical background to speak the language of engineers and strong business background to deal with contracts and negotiations and international business
Knowledge of construction principles/practices required
