The Construction Engineer (CE) will be engaged in the project from the initiation / definition phase through final commissioning and closeout. Below is list of activities / deliverables the CE may be involved in throughout the life cycle of a project from initiation to final commissioning and closeout. Project scopes vary as will the roles of the CE for each project.
Job Location: Various (Southeast TX, LA, AR, MS)
Key Responsibilities:
Assist Construction Manager in managing capital projects through the entire life cycle from definition to closeout.
Participate as a member of project teams to develop project scope, project cost estimate, project schedule.
Attend site field / scope visits as required.
Assist Project Manager / Project Controls in developing schedule including critical paths
Develop detailed construction plans and identify outage requirements to implement new facilities.
Identify required construction permits and engage ROW and/or Environmental departments as needed.
Develop detailed construction estimates
Work with Customer stakeholders such as major accounts, Customer Service, local distribution networks, and area substation groups regarding outages that affect external/internal customers.
Develop construction contract bid packages; review responses and participate in vendor selection.
Develop bid package / RFP
Conduct pre-bid meeting with contractors
Participate in design constructability reviews for all disciplines (site, foundation, electrical & relay, T-Line) to identify and minimize change orders during the construction phase.
Identifies and addresses potential project safety hazards and environmental concerns. Responsible for monitoring and routine reporting on project construction schedule and cost.
Perform quality assurance checks during construction.
Ensure productivity tracker tool is updated daily.
Monitor schedule and progress versus requested in service date.
Responsible for closeout of construction contracts and as-built documentation.
Monitors that all Customer procedures and processes are followed so that we will comply with all regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with commissioning engineer to ensure all required documentation / testing is performed.
Qualifications:
Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Valid driver's license required.
High School Diploma or GED required.
BS in Engineering, Construction Management or other approved degree. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
2+ years of experience of transmission, substation or distribution line work. Positions are tiered based on experience level.
Familiarity with OSHA Standard 1926, including Subpart V (Power Transmission and Distribution).
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Org Plus, Outlook, SharePoint, and internet applications.
Proficiency in T&D standards, safe operation of line equipment, and familiarity with the operations of T&D construction.
Experience working in group settings and with governmental agencies.
Ability to interface effectively with internal and external clients at all levels.
Ability to prioritize effectively and adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment.
Willingness to travel extensively and maintain a continuous presence on assignments.
Physical ability to perform outdoor work and wear all required PPE.
Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and pass a background check, MVR check, and drug screening.
Knowledge of Entergy Safety, Construction and Design Standards is preferred.

Position Summary
We are seeking an innovative, organized, and detail-oriented Design Engineer to support the design and production of our metal fabrication projects. This role is key to ensuring drawing accuracy, data collection and updates, project tracking, and on-time delivery - as well as effective communication with production teams, clients, and suppliers.
Responsibilities
Create and release work orders for production and purchasing.
Develop production drawings with tolerances and detailed notes, as well as fabrication drawings.
Monitor the fabrication process to ensure quality and schedule compliance.
Perform data collection and measurements on products inside and outside the plant as needed.
Create 3D models of parts and assemblies.
Collaborate with end users to define designs and provide effective solutions.
Design, propose, and select appropriate materials for new projects.
Prepare bills of materials (BOM) and sheet cutting lists.
Assist in material quotations.
Conduct analysis and closely track assigned projects according to committed deadlines.
Organize and plan activities efficiently.
Maintain direct communication with internal staff and suppliers.
Requirements
Authorization to work in the United States (valid work permit or legal status required).
Bilingual English/Spanish (reading, writing, and verbal communication).
Bachelor's degree in Design, Engineering, or related field.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks (sheet metal and welded assemblies).
