Summary
The ProjectEngineer supports field activities and spends a majority of time working with the Project Manager supporting project administration on multiple small projects, or one medium to large-size projects. Activities include managing the job transition process; and supporting the management of cost and schedule, constructability, technical evaluations, quality, safety, work planning, procurement, contract management, regulatory compliance, etc.
Roles and Responsibilities

* Generates and obtains approvals of monthly billing and earned values
* Develops and manages the project schedule on small or mid-sized projects
* Analyzes targets and goals, job cost summaries, and other reports
* Alerts the Superintendent and Project Manager of project impact relating to resource management, crew make-up/size, etc.
* Generates and obtains approval of the initial budget and subsequent updates, and reviews weekly job cost summaries and advises the Project Manager
* Generates estimates of change orders and may interface with pre-construction on original bids
* Collaborates with pre-construction and the project team to manage the job transition process, communicate project requirements, and develop the initial procurement plans, budgets, etc.
* Generates material quantity take-offs, scoping documents, terms and conditions, delivery, etc. as applicable to support the procurement process
* Generates requests for proposal(s), solicits and reviews quotations, and recommends a procurement decision to Project Manager
* Prepares field purchase orders for standard purchase packages, and generates and obtains approval of Major Purchase Orders

* Works with the Project Manager to approve and code project invoices

Requirements

This individual will be a part of the Rabies Unit, supporting the characterization and evaluation of county rabies control programs in New York State via survey and analysis of the resulting data.
The incumbent's primary responsibilities will be assisting with survey design and administration, data analysis, and compilation and presentation of results. **Your key responsibilities:**
+ Coordinates with Analytics Team to generate performance reporting and associated financial models.

Health Research, Inc. is seeking an Hourly Project Assistant II to assist with data analysis and evaluation activities related to the 2024 Public Health Workforce Interests and Needs Survey (PHWINS). This national survey provides critical insights into the public health workforce, informing strategies to strengthen workforce capacity, training, and retention. The role will be responsible for cleaning, managing, and analyzing data, developing data visualizations, and contributing to reports that help shape workforce policies and programs. The incumbent will use statistical tools to identify key insights that impact public health infrastructure. The incumbent will collaborate with team members to ensure data quality, interpret survey results, and provide analytical support for data-driven decision-making.
The Hourly Project Assistant II is located in the Bureau of Chronic Disease Evaluation and Research (BCDER). BCDER's purpose is to generate, disseminate, and interpret data and information and educate and assist others to use information for planning, monitoring program implementation, and evaluating impact. BCDER is dedicated to making chronic disease prevention and control programs more focused, efficient, and effective. The Bureau houses programs related to alcohol, tobacco, and cannabis use, and cancer surveillance. Lastly, it also oversees the work of the Health Workforce Evaluation Unit, where the Hourly Project Assistant II will work.
The Hourly Project Assistant II will apply their skills analytical thinking and data analysis to independently explore trends from the Public Health Workforce Interests and Needs Survey (PHWINS). They will also apply their communication skills and attention to detail to present their findings to members of the team in the form of written briefs and data charts/visualizations.
The Hourly Project Assistant II will become familiar with government public health practices and the various ways in which the public health workforce affects the health of New Yorkers.
