    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Conducts standardized tests on products and materials to ensure compliance with internal standards, customer specifications and international, federal, and state regulations. Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with HACCP standards and company policies and procedures. Monitoring data such as weights, temperatures, moisture content, qualities and quantities inspected or graded to ensure that all standards/limits are met. Applies proper acceptance/rejection criteria and marks items with details such as grade and acceptance or rejection status. Audits production facility and reviews employee behavior for proper sanitation. Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to production and QA management. Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities to production. Maintains a working knowledge of company, government and industry quality assurance codes and standards. Responsible for maintaining Food Safety and Quality Systems as assigned. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Experience in seafood/raw goods production (preferably in a lead or QC role) or education in food science or a related field are preferred but not required. Knowledge of basic GMP's, general plant and food safety combined with sanitation regulations. Knowledge of fish species and grading or basic food microbiology preferred. Familiar with basic measurements of weights and temperatures. Recording data (by hand) on forms monitoring & ensuring regulatory and OBI Seafoods' compliance. Verbal and written communication skills in English are required. Must have the ability to work well under pressure Must be willing and able to work with other departments in a team atmosphere. Must be willing and able to live and work in confined quarters in a multi-cultural environment. Experience within the seafood industry is preferred. Capable of working outdoors in Alaskan field conditions as needed. Must always be professional and represent OBI with the highest standards. Prompt and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position. COMPENSATION: Pay rate depends on experience. This is an hourly position that is eligible for overtime pay. In Alaska, overtime is one and one-half times the regular hourly rate and is paid for hours worked over 8 hours in a day and after 40 hours are worked in a week. Room and Board Included. WORK ENVIRONMENT Working Conditions and Physical Effort: Work involves daily exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, humidity, darkness, and/or noise. Position requires the ability to stand, sit at a desk, walking around office and plant, lifting, and carrying packages up to 50 pounds, utilizing fine dexterity. Requires reaching, kneeling, crawling, and twisting to inspect equipment. CRRC is a nonprofit inter-Tribal fish and wildlife commission established to address environmental and natural resources issues of concern to its seven member Tribes, located in the Chugach region of southcentral Alaska. These include Chenega IRA Council, Native Village of Eyak (Cordova), Port Graham Village Council, Nanwalek IRA Council, Qutekcak Native Tribe (Seward), Tatitlek Village IRA Council, and Valdez Native Tribe. Position Description This position serves in the Chugach Region Ocean Monitoring (CROM) program, a specialized marine ecological and biochemical laboratory. Assays conducted in this laboratory will focus on ocean chemistry monitoring, and may include shellfish biotoxin monitoring, phytoplankton identification, and general husbandry of algae, bivalve, and fish species. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Conduct sample analysis, as well as light maintenance for laboratory equipment, data processing, inventories of samples, and day to day purchasing and stocking of laboratory supplies. Assist in project development, coordination, logistics, and supply procurement. Travel to rural coastal areas to assist in field collection of organisms, samples, and data. Contribute to grant proposal development by drafting relevant sections; prepare and present novel research findings through oral presentations and written manuscripts for both public and professional audiences assist with report preparation and manuscript submission. Perform general husbandry and care for onsite algae, bivalve, and fish species as needed. Maintain accurate and organized laboratory records, logs, and documentation in accordance with regulatory and institutional standards. Ensure adherence to safety protocol, including proper handling and disposal of chemicals and biological materials. Attend meetings and participate in required training sessions to maintain compliance and stay updated on protocols. Other duties as Educational & Experience Requirements Bachelors degree (or higher) in Chemistry, Biological Sciences, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience may substitute for a degree. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Implement, practice, and continually lead by example Doyon Energy Services' commitment to zero incident safety and environmental culture. * Implement the project construction quality program at the job site. * Provide technical support to the project field team for interpretation of various codes, specifications, and regulations * Carry out all quality control activities, including inspection, examination, and testing, to verify that the quality of welding, installed materials, and finished work complies with all aspects of the project specifications and requirements. * Participate in construction meetings with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and fabrication facilities to ensure compliance with and understanding of project requirements, applicable specification sections, and expected quality workmanship. * Implement quality control intervention points on inspection and test plans to include surveillance, witness, mandatory inspection, and record review. * Complete appropriate quality control forms during and after inspection of work; submit completed forms to supervisor daily. * Assist in ensuring vital records are retained and kept current for inclusion in document turnover packages. * Closely work with DES managers and supervisors to ensure understanding and compliance with all project requirements. * Review and understand project requirements, assist in ensuring all construction activities comply with project requirements. * Implement project quality control procedures, inspections, and test plans, and witness and record construction procedures. * Perform surveillance inspection over subcontractors, vendors, and fabrication facilities to ensure compliance in all respects with project specifications and standards. * Perform receipt inspection and monitoring of interim construction site storage areas for permanent materials. * Perform inspection and testing of in-process and completed installations. * Prepare deviation reports to document nonconforming conditions as required. * Control calibrated measuring and test equipment used on the project and verify all instruments have current certifications. * Perform completion inspection and develop punch lists of incomplete work. * Perform daily inspections to ensure compliance with contract requirements. * Provide daily Quality Control Reports to the Quality Control Supervisor and project management. * Ensure testing is performed per referenced standards. * Other duties as assigned. Position Description This position serves in the Chugach Region Ocean Monitoring (CROM) program, a specialized marine ecological and biochemical laboratory. Assays conducted in this laboratory will focus on ocean chemistry monitoring, and may include shellfish biotoxin monitoring, phytoplankton identification, and general husbandry of algae, bivalve, and fish species. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Conduct sample analysis, as well as light maintenance for laboratory equipment, data processing, inventories of samples, and day to day purchasing and stocking of laboratory supplies. Assist in project development, coordination, logistics, and supply procurement. Travel to rural coastal areas to assist in field collection of organisms, samples, and data. Contribute to grant proposal development by drafting relevant sections; prepare and present novel research findings through oral presentations and written manuscripts for both public and professional audiences' assist with report preparation and manuscript submission. Perform general husbandry and care for onsite algae, bivalve, and fish species as needed. Maintain accurate and organized laboratory records, logs, and documentation in accordance with regulatory and institutional standards.
