ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor production to ensure all documentation is complete. Monitor scaling of raw materials, mixing of ingredients to ensure compliance with formula cards (i.e., correct ingredients, correct lot codes, quantities). Verify and conduct process control audits and address out of specification findings in a timely manner.
Verify control points are being monitored and are acceptable per food safety requirements.
Ensure product specifications, weights, color and other attributes of finished product are acceptable.
Control out of specification products and provide recommendation of disposition.
Monitor packaging to ensure correct labelling, date coding, and correct packaging is being followed.
Organoleptic tests of finished goods to ensure acceptance to standards, taste, eye appeal, odor etc.
Advise QA Manager regarding questionable product, discarding of bad product or possible stopping of production line to correct or prevent product food safety & quality issues.
Monitor production processing and assist operators in making adjustments to processing methods during production to improve product quality & consistency.
Monitor metal detectors and scales to ensure complete accuracy.
Assist production employees with label printing as necessary.
Work with production and warehouse to control, maintain, and/or improve as appropriate the handling, storage and usage of all other materials.
Provide individual or group training to production employees on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), product specifications, SPC, production controls, formulas, visual quality inspection criteria, GMP, Food Safety procedures.
Assist in development of SOPs by working with production operators to understand current operating procedures, identify best methods. Assist in developing HACCP/Food Safety Plans, Food Defense Plans and Global Food Safety Initiative audit schemes such as BRC.
Participate in audits and participate in internal audits.
Perform GMP inspection.
Control and retain samples and associated reports.
Conduct sampling as required by company procedures.
Conduct inspections of equipment during preoperational inspection, changeovers and/or as required by company policies.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires high school diploma, or equivalent.
Previous experience in Quality or Food Safety in a food manufacturing environment.
Requires flexible schedule & strong computer skills in excel and other programs.
Must be self-disciplined, pay attention to detail, multitask, be comfortable training and be a good communicator.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to stand, walk, kneel/squat, climb, bend and lift a maximum of 50lbs.

Quality control inspector is responsible for examining products and materials for defects or deviations from specifications within the Aecon program. This position will report in through the quality program.
Citizenship Requirement:
This position requires access to nuclear facilities and information governed by U.S. federal regulations. As a result, applicants must be U.S. citizens to meet eligibility and security clearance requirements.
What You'll Do Here
* Perform inspection on pressure boundary and non-pressure boundary components, assemblies and structural fabrications in accordance with the applicable code of construction and/or customer specifications. Such inspections shall include but not be limited to:
* Dimensional inspections
* Review of Material Test Reports
* Receiving inspection
* Weld Visual inspection
* Liquid penetrant inspection
* Positive material identification
* Material thickness verification or "D" Meter.
* Pressure Test Inspection
* Follow and maintain Inspection and Test Plans or Travelers.
* Perform internal weld monitoring as required.
* Perform Source Inspections, In-Process Inspections and Final Inspections
* Complete all associated documentation; Quality Control reports, sign-off on drawings, create as-built drawings, etc.
* Calibration of measuring and test equipment.
* Establishes implements and maintains site quality program
* Coordinates with engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, regulatory representatives and field to ensure that work is done correctly.
* Assures work on-site meets applicable codes and specifications.
* Develops and administers site specific Quality Programs.
* Surveillance/Audits of site Contractor Quality Control Programs.
* Responsible in all aspects of welder qualification on-site testing.
* Responsible for issuance, control and coordination of Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) and Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) contacts.
* Establishes inspection plan and track inspections/actions identified.
* Approves site testing such as soils testing, concrete placement and grout breaks, hydro tests, and NDE testing and verify tests are properly documented.
* Reviews and controls documentation for the certification of construction equipment and testing equipment.
* Reviews turnover packages prior to handoff to Startup.
* Assists in the coordination of punch list walkdowns/inspections; establishes and manages the punch list.
* Collating Quality Control documentation for final handover to Owner.
* Interfaces with clients and government officials.
* Develops and implements quality programs that assist projects and division to meet company and division quality goals and expectations.
* May act as Quality Consultant for internal and external clients.
* May act as temporary project fill-in for lower-level quality professionals.
* Provides supervision, training, development, and performance management of direct reports.
* Acts as mentor to other quality professionals.
* Implements Safety, Quality, Ethical Standards, Lessons Learned, and adheres to Performance Management programs in accordance with Division Policies, Standards, and Guidelines.
* Supports continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements.
* Supervises work of others
* Responsible for hiring, discipline, and pay administration of their subordinates including other site QC inspectors and site QC representatives (technicians, specialists)
* Participate in the development and maintenance of a cost of quality tracking system
* Tracking of nonconformance reports and corrective/preventative action requests
What You Bring To The Team
* Graduate secondary school education in welding technology, QA/QC or a related discipline at the University or College level or a minimum of 3 year work experience in QA/QC role.
* NDE Certification: C.G.S.B. Level II in Magnetic Particle Examination and Liquid Penetrant Examination would be an asset.
* Level I Visual Weld inspection or II Visual Weld Inspection
* Good communication and organizational skills
* Computer literate in MS Office
* B&PV Code ASME Section 1, B31.1, B31.3 & Section VIII Div. 1 experience would be an asset.
* Experience with Nuclear, ASME Code Section III experience would be an asset.
