The Analyst I QC Microbiology is responsible for performing various QC assays and sampling to support manufacturing, validation, process development and stability studies in a GMP laboratory environment. This position reports to the QC Microbiology Lab Supervisor and is part of the QC Team located in Fargo and will be an on-site role. Ability to operate a variety of office, laboratory and pilot equipment such as a personal computer, water baths, incubator, PH meters, salt analyzer, scales, and rapid and reference chemistry testing methods, climate chambers, pressing equipment, and mini cheese vats Able to create and edit spreadsheets, enter and organize data in Microsoft Excel. Prefer a good knowledge of State of South Dakota rules that regulate the dairy industry, testing procedures, and documentation techniques. Requires good oral communication skills to effectively deal with coworkers. Key Responsibilities: Water Treatment Operates and maintains the potable water treatment systems responsible for producing adequate quantity and quality potable service water for REC and affiliated customers. At REC, personnel performing this function are required to acquire and maintain the North Dakota Class II water treatment operator and Class I Water Distribution licensure. Operates and maintains reverse osmosis & demineralizer equipment to maintain boiler feed water and steam quality requirements. Operates assigned chemical feed equipment throughout the plant site to maintain open and closed loop system's chemistry set points and control ranges. Conducts routine laboratory sampling and analysis to support plant operations and regulatory compliance.
