Quality Technicians play an integral role in ensuring that consumers receive high-quality, great-tasting products. This position supports a 24/7 production environment while offering a balanced schedule averaging approximately 45 hours per week. The facility features state-of-the-art equipment and provides opportunities for both personal and professional development. Quality Technicians are responsible for completing all documentation and data entry associated with the receipt, handling, and analysis of samples and results. This role works closely with departments such as Maintenance, Packaging, Replenishment, Processing, and Leadership to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement. Technicians must be able to interpret production schedules to anticipate sample loads and adjust workflows accordingly, ensuring sufficient time, materials, and resources. Product testing may include fat, total solids, pH, viscosity, protein, aerobic plate counts, coliform counts, yeast & mold counts, and antibiotic residue analysis. Principal Duties Analytical Pull, record, and label finished product samples for immediate testing and shelf-life evaluations. Verify product labeling, packaging accuracy, and code dates. Perform sensory evaluations on finished products. Operate and calibrate laboratory equipment per SOP guidelines; troubleshoot as needed. Communicate critical product evaluation results to management as required by SOPs. Pull additional finished product samples to support quality monitoring, shelf-life studies, and retention programs. Manage vendor supplies and participate in quarterly vendor scorecard reviews. Oversee pest control management program. Microbiology Testing Perform microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. Communicate crucial testing results to management based on specification requirements. Conduct additional testing, including water analysis, environmental monitoring, and project-specific sampling. Other Responsibilities Maintain the laboratory information management system (LIMS) with timely and accurate data entry. Manage product hold and release processes. Monitor supply inventory and restock or prepare materials as needed. Record, review, and verify facility documentation for compliance. Assist with GMP audits and preparation for state inspections and customer audits. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the laboratory. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management. Qualifications High school diploma required. Technical degree with a science focus strongly preferred. 3-5 years of related laboratory experience. Strong time-management and prioritization skills.
