The qualifications for the Development Chemist role are:
Bachelor's Degree in a Chemistry, Polymer Science, Coatings Science, or Chemical Engineering
Prior knowledge of coatings formulation is preferred 0-2 years
Key Responsibilities:
Respond to color match requests and color design work for wood flooring and other building material customers.
Maintain new or alternative pigments and/or raw materials to enable supply security and mitigate production disruptions. Design and execute the experiments for the raw material testing.
Collaborate with sales team for product attributes and build strong working relationships with new customers to increase potential business opportunities.
Interact with production to investigate product quality problems, resolve root cause, assemble, and analyze data and implement corrective action to reduce or eliminate cause.
Communicate and ensure recordkeeping through written/verbal summaries, reports, and presentations to both internal and external customers.
With feedback from technical service, address customer complaints/concerns through root cause analysis and/or formulation changes.
Through experimental design, manipulates formulation variables to enhance UV cure coatings primarily for the flooring market.
Level I: 0-3 years.
Knowledgeable of chemistry/coatings technology and scientific test methods.
Performs independently by planning and executing specific phases of a project, subject to direction of a senior exempt employee.
Develops understanding of fundamental principles and root cause analysis.
Uses these principles to design experiments and BPI tools that effectively lead to problem solving.
Provides direct support to field technical problems; travel as needed.

What You Will Do:
Perform hydrostatic, mechanical and electrical tests and inspections on components and equipment based on standard procedures, and document test results
Troubleshoot, and potentially fix, issues that arise
Upload, configure, debug, and troubleshoot programmable logic controller (PLC) programs and related control logic on equipment
Use and install meters, power supplies, hoses, and other testing equipment
Critically evaluate quality standards and collaborate on continual improvement
Support management of nonconformance, calibration, and documentation programs
Interface with equipment engineers and fabricators to ensure electrical, mechanical, and control system tests are sufficient
Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings

Position Details:

Work week and shift: Monday - Friday 7AM - 3:30PM, with possible overtime requirements
Compensation Package Offered: $30.00 / hour, depending on experience
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
3 years of experience in an equipment assembly or electrical-related assignment
3 years of experience working on industrial equipment utilizing computerized (PLC) control systems to perform process operations
Experience reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings
Experience wiring simple circuitry and performing point-to-point terminations

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A Quality Control Laboratory Testing Technician
A typical day for the laboratory testing technician includes sample processing, performing quality control checks, and providing overall laboratory support. The technician works with equipment setup for staining and imaging, prepares reagents, manages specimens, and assists with inventory and quality management tasks. The majority of time in this role is spent on three main activities: equipment setup, monitoring, and maintenance; conducting inventory checks and stocking consumables; and managing slide specimens, including archiving, tracking, and proper storage.

The inspector is responsible for oversight of the fabrication quality assurance on behalf of PTTI, in addition to on-site inspections during the fabrication phase.
Communicating with the Manager to determine the specific requirements of a given work order, including the scope of work, deliverables, and schedule, for a particular assignment.
Assure that all requirements per the ISO standard are adhered to.
Document Non-Conformances (NC) via a NC Email.
Ensure that all NCs are properly CLOSED out.
Stop Work Tags (SWT) to document Non-Conformances.
Contribute to the efforts needed to successfully pass external and internal audits.
Team player willing to work with welders, supervision, and other PTTI employees.
Become knowledgeable on the PTTI internal quality documentation.
Interactions are required with organizations both upstream and downstream of the winding effort.
Serve as a Liaison between the welding floor and engineering.
Ensure that welding sheet changes are implemented in a formal revision.
Perform final product inspection in totality to meet customer's requirements.
Perform daily inspection of items in department.

Your Goal
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring the quality of fabricated parts and/or switch assemblies before they advance to the next stage of production, whether for internal departments or external customers. Reporting to the Coordinator of Science and Technology Labs, the Chemistry and Science Laboratory Technician at Main Campus is responsible for preparing materials and obtaining needed supplies for the Chemistry labs on Main Campus, managing the chemical stock, assisting the Coordinator of Science and Technology in managing the hazardous waste and maintaining safe working conditions, maintaining Chemistry's SDS books and list, supervising student workers while in chemistry, maintaining organization and physical and chemical cleanliness, and maintaining and arranging for the repair of equipment. In addition, the Chemistry and Science Laboratory Technician will provide needed and /or emergency coverage for Biology, when possible.
