Prepare test samples by sanding and polishing, using tabletop and stand-up belt sanders.
Operate scales (electronic) to determine the weight of the sample.
Mix polishing powders, materials to make polishing molds, liquids to make etchant, and materials to make a solution critical for the methylene blue test.
Ability to operate a band saw, and tool grinder in a safe manner.
Examine parts for hardness (Brinell) and gauging inspection ability.
Machine and examine test bars for physical properties by utilizing a lathe and Tinius Olsen tester.
Perform application tests on parts to ensure parts can withstand required forces and meet associated specification values.
Other duties as assigned, required being flexible in their daily job assignment.
