Work Environment
The role requires working in a salt mine environment, which is humid, dirty, and physically demanding. You will need to navigate several flights of stairs multiple times a day and transport samples from the mill to the lab, which is a satellite building. Initial training will last between 4 weeks, depending on your ability to learn, with a training schedule of 7 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, and every other Saturday. After training, you will work independently. A uniform will be provided a few weeks after starting, with a dress code of jeans, steel toe boots, and a t-shirt (no short sleeves) during training. Enjoy 80 hours of PTO and 6 additional days of holiday pay. Opportunity for direct hire exists based on performance.

We are seeking an I/E Quality ControlTechnician for a position in New Iberia, LA. This role plans and coordinates quality control program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards. Non-exempt role; Reports to Site QC Manager or QC Supervisor; Performs a variety of routine duties within established policies.
This position will build I/E packages that include all drawings, specification sheets for all instruments and electrical equipment, and check-off sheets needed for a complete checkout of the completed module. All Conduit, Cable Tray, Lighting, and associated electrical and instrumentation junction boxes will be inspected before being shipped to the client's location. This Role will require the employee to build packages for both sites.

SUMMARY
Performs routine laboratory analysis of pressurized petroleum crude oil and natural gas in a PVT (Pressure, Volume, Temperature) laboratory environment. Uses basic hand tools properly and safely to make connections to valves and laboratory equipment and works safely and effectively with pressurized petroleum reservoir fluids.
Cleans and maintains laboratory equipment.
Understand and be able to complete laboratory raw data sheets, perform basic data calculations using calculators and computers, and make accurate entries into the laboratory information management system.
Read and understand all analysis and safety standards in English, including ASTM, UOP, IP and other well-defined analytical standards and procedures used in the laboratory.
Assist senior laboratory personnel in setting up, adjusting and operating laboratory equipment for which the technician has been adequately trained and has been verified to operate correctly in accordance with applicable standards and sound laboratory practice. Performs equipment maintenance without assistance, performs equipment calibration and repair.
Assist in or perform basic analytical tests from well-defined standards and procedures as assigned by the Laboratory Manager. Laboratory technicians must be verified to be able to perform all tests in accordance with applicable standards and sound laboratory practice.
Exercise procedural, safety and quality requirements specified in Core Laboratories Procedural and Safety and Environmental Manuals, and company policies.
Attend training and pass appropriate examinations in petroleum, chemical and gas analysis, including Right-to-Know training, hazardous materials disposal, and other safety and compliance training required by applicable regulations.

Support harbor and sea trials with inspection and verification activities.
Documentation: Maintain accurate inspection records, including results, nonconformances, and corrective actions. Prepare inspection reports and provide timely feedback to engineering and production teams.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal quality standards, ISO 9001, regulatory, and military specific standards. Verify that processes and products comply with all applicable requirements.
Problem-Solving: Identify defects, deviations, or nonconformances. Work with cross-functional teams to investigate root causes, recommend corrective/preventive actions, and verify effectiveness of fixes.
Continuous Improvement: Actively support quality improvement initiatives, process audits, and implementation of best practices in the shipyard. Provide input on opportunities for inspection efficiency and effectiveness.
Collaboration: Partner with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to address quality issues and support on-time delivery of fully compliant autonomous vessels. Interface with regulatory inspectors and customer representatives as required.
Training & Support: Assist in training new inspectors and shipyard personnel in inspection procedures, quality standards, and the proper use of inspection tools and documentation systems.
Qualifications
Minimum 1+ years of experience in quality inspection, preferably in shipbuilding, defense, aerospace, or maritime industries. Experience with autonomous or advanced systems is a plus.
Solid understanding of quality control principles, inspection techniques, and measurement methods.
Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, weld inspection tools, electrical test equipment).
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations. Experience with ISO 9001, ABS, Navy, and/or Department of Defense quality standards is highly desirable.
Strong problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective written and verbal communication skills; able to clearly document findings and interact with production and engineering teams.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced shipyard/startup environment with shifting priorities.

The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for sampling, processing, and testing materials in accordance with established procedures and specifications, including proper documentation of testing results. These methods include American Society for Testing & Materials (ASTM), American Association of State Highway & Transportation Officials (AASHTO), Department of Transportation (DOT), US Corp of Engineers, etc. Other responsibilities include:
* Perform physical/index/chemical construction material laboratory testing, as assigned:

* Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) testing (gradations, AC content, density, etc.)
* Soils (roadway base, select fills, subgrade, etc.), testing (moisture/density, Atterberg Limits, gradations, specialty, strength, etc.)
* Aggregate testing (gradation, specific gravity, unit weight, etc.)
* Properly document hours worked and assist in client billing efforts.
* Perform and keep documentation of routine maintenance and calibration of equipment.
* Maintain a neat/clean/safe laboratory and work space.
* Maintain relevant certifications to also include regular review of pertinent testing methods.
* Meet deadlines and priorities according to established procedures.
* Demonstrate the safe usage, storage, and maintenance of all tools and equipment, including company vehicle.
* Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external personnel.
* Understand, adhere, and participate in the Raba Kistner Health & Safety and BBS Programs, setting a good example of our safety standards.

Qualifications
* High School diploma, G.E.D., or possess at least one current relevant industry certification, such as ACI Field, ACI Concrete Strength, ACI Aggregates, TxDOT SB101, SB102, SB103, SB201, SB202, 1A or 1B or other comparable industry certifications as required.
* Possess a valid driver's license within the applicable jurisdiction and meet firm's auto insurability requirements.

Inspection & Testing: Perform in-process and final inspections of welds, hull structures, electrical/electronic systems, outfitting, and finished vessels to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, regulatory/military standards, and customer requirements. Support harbor and sea trials with inspection and verification activities.
Documentation: Maintain accurate inspection records, including results, nonconformances, and corrective actions. Prepare inspection reports and provide timely feedback to engineering and production teams.

Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, weld inspection tools, electrical test equipment).
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations. Experience with ISO 9001, ABS, Navy, and/or Department of Defense quality standards is highly desirable.
