Position Summary:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for conducting thorough inspections of standard and custom parts and finishes, both in-house and from external vendors. This role requires the use of precision measuring instruments, including electronic devices, to assess color, finish, dimensions, hardness, density, and other measurable characteristics. Additionally, the inspector performs detailed first article inspections on newly finished or revised parts and may assist in developing, updating, or refining sampling and inspection procedures.

Education:
High School Diploma, GED, or 1-2 years of experience as a Metal Finisher or in a related field
Experience:

Knowledge of different metal materials and their characteristics.
Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

Responsibilities
The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting, testing, and evaluating products and materials by controlling the process procedures to meet customer requirements according to the Quality Policy. The control of this process requires periodic visual inspections and dimensional inspections that are used as a part of identifying defects, recording quality data and working with the production team to implement improvements. Also responsible for documenting any changes made to the molding process. The Inspector has the responsibility to manage, perform and verify work affecting quality. Responsibilities
1.0 JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position involves working in a self-directed team environment to provide support to the product test (PT Lab) teams. The primary responsibility of an individual working in this position is to conduct functional performance tests of molded plastic closure systems, and to then summarize and prepare written reports of the test results. The testing is accomplished through the use of mechanical tools and test equipment, as well as, manual manipulation of the closure systems. The test evaluation data is collected and entered into a PC Spreadsheet software is used to organize, analyze, and report the data.
2.0 PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position Summary:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for conducting thorough inspections of standard and custom parts and finishes, both in-house and from external vendors. This role requires the use of precision measuring instruments, including electronic devices, to assess color, finish, dimensions, hardness, density, and other measurable characteristics. Additionally, the inspector performs detailed first article inspections on newly finished or revised parts and may assist in developing, updating, or refining sampling and inspection procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct visual inspections of parts using appropriate tools and techniques.
Utilize precision measuring instruments to assess plating thickness and other finish characteristics.
Identify and communicate nonconforming product issues to operators and supervisors.
Ensure all outgoing products comply with customer specifications.
Accurately input inspection data into computer systems as required.
Quality Management System Requirements:
Understand and adhere to Erie Plating Companys quality system standards, including ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and Nadcap.
Apply quality system requirements in all relevant areas of responsibility.

Education:
High School Diploma, GED, or 1-2 years of experience as a Metal Finisher or in a related field
Experience:
Familiarity with different metal finishing techniques and tools.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
Knowledge of different metal materials and their characteristics.
Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects up to 50lbs.
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively with colleagues.
A basic knowledge of chemistry is preferred but not required.

Worthington Enterprises is excited to be hiring a Quality Inspector. The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing regulatory and internal customer specific testing of the cylinders. In this position, one needs to be able to read and analyze testing results and complete all necessary paperwork. A successful candidate would be someone who is a self-motivated problem solver with a strong work ethic. Must be flexible for assigned shift. This is an off shift role.
Shifts: 2nd shift - 3pm to 11pm (Monday through Friday)

Responsibilities
Performs internal testing, internal checks, and cosmetic inspections.
Performs burst, volumetric and proof tests on all types and sizes of cylinders.
Performs titrations and calibrations.
Completes all lab work and paperwork on all types and sizes of cylinders.
Must learn to operate real time x-ray booth (where applicable).
Must be able to obtain samples using the band saw or plasma torch and prep bend test, macro sample and tensile specimens using the belt sander.
Other duties as assigned.
