About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and independent QC Equipment Technician to be the operational and compliance expert for all laboratory equipment within our state-of-the-art biopharmaceutical Quality Control (QC) facilities. This specialized role is critical for ensuring the continuous qualification, calibration, and maintenance of high-precision analytical instrumentation, directly supporting the compliance and integrity of our clinical and commercial testing programs.
Key Responsibilities
The QC Equipment Technician manages the full lifecycle of laboratory assets and supports the robust quality system that governs their use:
Equipment Lifecycle & Maintenance
Coordinate and schedule calibration, maintenance, and Installation, Operational, Performance Qualification (IOPQ) activities with Facilities, Metrology, and QC end-users to minimize equipment downtime and address Out of Tolerance (OOT) events immediately.
Monitor, coordinate, and communicate equipment lifecycle timelines-from acquisition and induction to qualification, implementation, and decommissioning-utilizing project management tools.
Submit asset induction, work, and administrative requests to ensure equipment failures are addressed immediately and data in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is accurate and in the proper state.
Serve as the primary QC point person for all equipment inquiries, acting as the liaison between the laboratory team and appropriate external vendors.
Ensure all vendor representatives strictly follow site safety and cGMP procedures when working on equipment.
Perform minor, non-invasive repairs on high-precision systems like UHPLC (e.g., changing capillaries, flow cells, needles/seats) and execute basic troubleshooting to diagnose complex failures.
Quality & Compliance Documentation
Support the authoring, review, and maintenance of high-stakes quality system records, including Deviations, Change Controls, and CAPAs (Corrective and Preventive Actions) as required.
Author, revise, and maintain Equipment/Instrument Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Review preventative maintenance reports, calibration certifications, CMMS records, and perform system inventory audits to ensure compliance.
Ensure all equipment documentation meets stringent cGMP, GDP (Good Documentation Practices), and data integrity requirements (ALCOA+) throughout its operational life.
Ensure all tasks are performed in compliance with safety and cGMP requirements.
Inventory & Logistics
Order supplies and maintain inventory for equipment consumables and accessories.
Assist with locating and collecting assets due for service and returning them to the laboratory promptly once service is complete.
Basic Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree (BS) in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or related field).
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a regulated laboratory setting with a BS degree.
OR
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a GMP Quality Control (QC) laboratory setting.
Knowledge: Demonstrated aptitude and ability to learn quickly to develop a strong understanding of GxP principles (cGMP, GLP).
Skills: Proven expertise in laboratory equipment IOPQ, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with electronic Quality Management Systems (eQMS) and CMMS software.

The primary result expected from the Quality Control Technician will be to assure product quality by preparing samples, conducting quality control inspection and testing of components, dispersions, and finished goods, determining adjustments for batches that do not conform to requirements, documenting inspections, and insuring calibration of testing equipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform testing of production batches, incoming raw materials, finished goods, and components to determine conformance to specifications.
Judge as “fit for release” production batches, incoming raw materials, finished goods, and components that are in conformance to all specifications and visually acceptable.
Determine and communicate batch adjustments for any batches that do not conform to requirements, utilizing batch history, adjustment guidelines, and consultation with the Senior QC Technician, Assistant Supervisor, or QC Manager.
Perform validation testing during filling to insure integrity of finished goods, including labeling, packaging, and fill weights.
Communicate current status of inspections to Senior Technicians, Assistant Supervisor, or QC Manager.
Communicate issues with work instructions and procedures to Senior Technicians, Assistant Supervisor, or QC Manager.
Document inspection results.
Required Experience:
1-3 years of production/manufacturing/quality control experience preferred but not required.
High school diploma or equivalent, Associate's or Bachelor's degree a plus
Some background in physical sciences and algebra
Ability to accurately read and enter computer data through a variety of tests
Proficiency in Excel, Word, and other MS Office applications
Experience in SAP recommended but not required

Mission
Control & oversight of the project's site installation activities to maintain the highest safety and quality standards and ensure progress complies with the contract schedule.
Accountabilities
Supervise and inspect all site activities, signaling, communications and associated minor civil works to ensure execution in accordance with; Delivery Schedule, Site Specific Work Plans, Approved Work Methods, Quality, Safety and Environmental Management Plans and Approved for Construction Drawings.
Perform field inspections to evaluate the work performed and materials used; verify quality of workmanship, quality of materials used, and compliance with plans, specifications, estimates, applicable codes and regulations;
Note deficiencies and deviations from plans using the nonconformance process; refer serious problems and disagreements in interpretation to the Construction Manager
Complete and submit daily site inspection forms and reports
Monitor the work progress of the installation, report the daily progress to the Construction Manager, assist with the identification and execution of recovery plans and support the Construction Manager to develop schedule forecasts based upon actual progress.
Interpret codes, analyze practices and recommend improvements; maintain, update and assure the accuracy of inspection records, inspection documentation and project files.
Provide customer service; answer questions and concerns related to building codes and requirements; consult with contractors and the client concerning non conformances and formal requests for information; investigate complaints and coordinate effective resolution of conflicts and disagreements; interpret, explain and ensure the application of codes and regulations.
Competencies
Experience with at least one and exposure to some or all of the following:
communications installation including optical fiber,
signaling and/or low voltage electrical installation
minor civil works including excavation, boring and trenching.
Experience working on active railroad projects is preferable
Skills & Knowledge
Licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician.
5+ years' experience as a Supervisor or equivalent
OSHA 30 construction safety a plus.
Strong communication skills.
Available to Day or Night work shifts and over weekends.

Immediately report unsafe conditions/behaviors and work-related injuries to site supervision
Qualifications
Preferred
High school diploma or equivalent
1 year of Product Operator experience necessary
Experience within the department must be gained within 90 days for use of specific measuring equipment, displaying an understanding of the job requirements and any devices required to complete inspection/test activities
Understand Quality Management System (QMS) requirements
Training on the specific equipment must be fully completed within 90 days of hire
Equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
