Recovery Network of Programs history

In 1979, President Edward J. Bloustein created one of the first Alcohol Policy Committees at a university.

The committee spurred conversations that eventually led to the hiring of Lisa Laitman in 1983 as the first full-time alcohol and drug counselor in the school's then 217-year history.

RNP’s Chief Operations Officer, has worked in the behavioral health field since 1986.

Rutgers Newark opened their program in 1993 and has a recovery housing program with similar services and outcomes.

She began her career working in private psychiatric hospitals before joining a large community based agency in 1997.

Case Western Reserve in Ohio opened up their doors in 2004, as did the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Massachusetts.

Tulsa Community College was the first of its kind to create a recovery program in 2005.

They opened up the housing component of their program in the 2010s.

In 2011, Texas Tech created the replication project in order to help other schools create and expand their programs.

In May of 2014, she joined Recovery Network of Programs as the Director of Quality Systems.

In 2015, she chose to move to the non-profit industry where she felt more of a connection to the mission, vision, and values.

Linda was promoted to Chief Operations Officer in early 2017 and is currently responsible for all quality related activities, safety, accreditation and licensing, information technology and operations.
