Designing new systems and processes for the introduction of new products or for the improvement of existing ones. Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service. Analyzes and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Meet with production group concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. Coordinates with customers to determine product specifications and design changes and responds to customer requests. Provides information for management decisions from a technical and technical cost perspective. Meet with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential. Plan utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations. Analyze work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow diagrams, and production schedules to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment. Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment. Troubleshoot daily manufacturing issues. Here is some of what you'll need: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or Manufacturing Engineering 3+ years of relevant experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment Computer skills include, but are not limited to: MS Office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project); AutoCAD, 3D CAD software, SolidWorks', Draft Sight Lean manufacturing methodologies and principles is desired. 5+ years with project management skills are preferred. Formal training and experience implementing lean strategies to improve process flow and reduce cost is preferred. Read and interpret drawing requirements and specifications is required.
